Never too soon to start prognosticating!

How bout some duel guesses too. Make a Kolb start and a Skelton start prediction.

Kolb starting: Niners 30 Cards 10. "Happy Feet 2" previews during the game result on fans nodding grimly.

Skelton starting: Niners 17 Cards 16. Defense plays well, offense bends but cant break the Niners D and struggles in the red-zone.

The only chance we have is to expose a very average Niners secondary. We must be able to go vertical, otherwise their front 7 will dominate. Kolb has no chance with that game plan. Skelton gives us our only chance. The D will have to create some opportunities for us & we have to just hold our own in the trenches. I expect a close game if we start Skelton. Otherwise, the Niners will dominate Kolb.

Niners 27
Cardinals 10

Regardless of who is playing for the Cardinals.

Our offensive line is horrible, and the Niners front seven may be the best in the league.

I expect a blowout if the D cannot shut down the 49ers offense much like the last two games at Candlestick. There is no way either of our QBs will be able to throw on the 49ers and Beanie seems to have reverted to his no vision sideways running of yesteryear.

Though IF Whiz pulls one out of his ass and we finally beat the 49ers, he deserves a pardon for the season.

The Niners are safe, with Defense helping their offense. I hope we want it more, cause we have a shot in hell and they have alll but locked up a NFCW title.

They still face the steelers, Ravens so we need to win both and get on a win streak, and knock down the Niners Season spinning them on a losing streak. Thy are not that good i watched them.

Cards 38 Niners 9, is my prediction.

I will hold off until later on my prediction...but a note on this game...Sunday's game aginst the Giants was a very physical game would the 9er's try to skate by against the Cards because 4 days later they have to play Ravens on a big time national game...just a thought.

Niners essentially lock up the West on Sunday.

Their Defense will own the Cards and score at least one TD.

This is what I see happening. Cards just can't score enough to overcome 9ers defense, strange plays and horrible referee calls.

I am going out on a limb and saying 14 - 10 Cards. Low scoring. Our D is doing good the last couple of games. Niners D is great but they may overlook us with going to Baltimore on Thanksgiving night.

17-13 Cardinals.

The Cardinals will keep up their defensive dominance, and the offense will play just well enough to win. The 49ers falter at home after an emotional win, and facing an "easy" opponent. This will be the week where Alex Smith fails to bring them back at the end. Fitzgerald will abuse Rogers, like he abused the Eagles.

In my opinion, this is the game where Arizona's defense shows that it is becoming really good. They give up 2 fg's and the 49ers get either a TD on defense or special teams.

sounds about right... I just hope that if it's Skelton in there, Wiz doesn't use a loss against one of the best teams in the league as an excuse to bench him and go back to Kolb.

I'm not ready to make a prediction yet, but worth pointing out that two weeks ago it took until the day before the Rams game for someone to notice that no one bothered to make a prediction thread, and now we get one a full week ahead of the next game. I'm definitely not putting all of it on Skelton, but this team has come a long way in two weeks, and there's definitely and finally some excitement around this team and some definite interest in the QB situation. Regardless of who ends up at QB, I just hope this momentum continues! GO CARDS!!

I think we're gonna get rolled, but I've been so far off on predictions this season...

Odd note, this will be the first Sunday in, I don't know how many years I wont be able to watch the game. It's odd because I'll be in Phoenix. (Tempe actually).

Go Cards!!!

The 49ers have really turned it around this year. I guess a new coach, even if he is a college coach, can make a difference. Wish we could bottle that and give it to our coaches. The right QB can put us in contention next year. Be it Skelton, Kolb or the next Cam Newton. Some of the old QBs are coming back this year and a couple of the rookies QBs are making an impact.

I thought Kolb was supposed to be a mobile QB. Turns out he is when running backwards. Skelton was supposed to be the slow one yet he leads the team in rushing. What is wrong with this scenario? Clearly at this point Kolb looks like an NFL QB. Kolb does not. I think Skelton threw for over 300 yds Sunday. Granted they were long ones. I hope the big guy makes it. I also hope Kolb wakes up but I fear he has some problems in his head that cannot be coached out. Not that he is dumb but he looks gun shy. If a slow footed Skelton can gain more yardage than Kolb in just two games something is wrong. He seems to know when he can run and when he cannot. Does have some problems with not throwing the ball away on occasion but that can be cured. Kolb has had open field in front of him but chose to make a bad throw into coverage. He is a rookie more or less so I expect those things but my greatest concern he is showing no improvement.

Will Kolb or Skelton start next week??????? I am sure the Coach will be under some pressure for who ever was responsible for the Kolb deal. If he was the man who made the call he should man up and start Skelton. If it was Graves of Mr. B Jr. then I can see why he might hesitate. If Kolb starts and loses big and looks bad the coach will be crucified by the media and this board I think.

Considering that the our record versus the Niners was 0-4 during our two playoff seasons, I say that the shoe is now on the other foot.

Lately our defense has impressed the hell out of me. Jefferson made a nice play Sunday but he is still the weak link in the defensive backfield which the 49ers will try to expose.

Next draft we need a good defensive lineman and a QB depending on how Skelton develops. Even our 3rd QB looked good the few times he has played but we still have no sure fire QB of the future. We do have one that at least that could be. Thats a start. We should also be able to sign at least two good FA. Perhaps a good DB to replace Jefferson if he continues to have problems. Sorry to hear about DRC. Fitz said he was the best athlete on our team. His best days are/were in front of him. Also hope that the Bidwills spend some money signing guys like Campbell. Our defense is just starting to jell and it is no time to start losing our good guys just when they are coming together as a unit. That is our usual method of operation. Spend some of the CAP money Mr. B. and Mr. B.

We have had lots of criticism of our receivers other than Fitz. Actually these guys have been answering the call. We need to get deeper at TE as Heap shows what a good TE can do for a QB. He is just getting old but can still bring it when not hurt. We had a great TE at Arkansas who could catch, block, and do it all. When he got to the NFL they turned him into an outstanding lineman (Jayson Perters). He weighed 300 lb and I think was around 6' 5" when at Arkansas and sure could catch the ball and run over people. I think we have thrown more to TE's this year than ever before. Perhaps when Jackie Smith was here and set the standard for TE's who could catch and run. Of course we sent him to the Cowboys. I have noticed we are keeping two guys beside the QB more than usual. It is giving Skelton more time to find a receiver. I like the way Skelton can and does often pump fake. You do not see that much from rookies. It sort of suggest they are seeing the field and making their progressions. We will see as he only has two games this year under his belt and we better not be to quick to jump the gun on who he really is. He does have some escapability. So far he is super max compared to Kolb. It is sure fun to win even when you are not going to make the playoffs. I am as excited as when Warner was killing other teams these days and really excited about our defense the last two games. Did you notice how all the guys really gathered round Jefferson after the interception. He was 5 yards behind the receiver who might have made a catch if the ball had not been so horrible overthrown. After all his bad play he needed that. Just hope he is in a learning curve and will turn out to be a good DB. He seems to have speed but is giving up to much space to receivers so that he is being badly beaten much to much. The coaches must see something in him. Do not recall what round we drafted him but I think he came out of Wisconsin. I was unfamiliar with him. Peterson seems to be getting better on coverage. His returns are unquestioned. When he hit he hits with a ton of force and appears to be a good first round pick.

Once again Graves sign those good defenders to extensions before it is to late and we start to lose them. That is a key way to build a solid defense. It is the New England Way and it works for them. It is the Pittsburgh way and it works for them. How many really good Pittsburgh players have we signed? They get rid of them during the end of their career when they are still wanted by other teams. Our old guy Wilson seems to have found some youth medicine. He was all over the field this week. Much of that is experience which can overcome a lot of things. He can still play in the NFL at a high level. Some people are saying he will be replaced by Peterson at some point. Wilson is as much a linebacker as a safety. He could be a hall of fame player but perhaps that is just prejudice talking. I thought we were 2-3 years away but if we have a QB we could contend next year from what I am starting to see. Early this year everyone though we had a horrible defense except for Mitch who went down player by player on the defense and discussed what we did have. Most of us jumped the gun to fast which is why we are not coaches. Getting back our #2 RB pick is going to help a lot if he is as good as advertised. Hope he has a lot of speed.

I had these same thoughts a few hours ago. Too early to prognosticate for me as well but...I'm leaning towards the Cards.

We all know deep down that this is the most likely result.

A thumping of epic proportions followed by a complete bail job back into the frying pan.
