for a team that was a "final 8" team --

the Cardinals could take any position except RB and WR and be justified in doing it

to add -- Brian Billick on NFL network said something interesting--

he said that 5 years ago defenses were in their base 60-65% of the time and in nickel/dime the remainder. Now -- with all the spread looks, etc -- it has flipped. It has placed an emphasis on defensive backs and linebackers that can make plays in zone coverage.

Scout is terrible at giving supposed "inside information" in regards to the Cardinals...Most of it is just some guys opinion.

But I wouldn't be suprised if we draft a CB this draft.

I heard an interview with KW at the Open this weekend and he made a comment "can never have too many quality DB's"...FWIW

Especially the Cardinals. We always seem to have an injury to one of our DB's. So depth is important for us.

And as the article also pointed out, the starters were shakey at times during the season. The depth is limited or just plain bad. I look for it to be addressed in the 2nd round and maybe again soon after for a saftey.

You don't have to read that article to realize that we have trouble brewing at CB. Just look at the past season, and the number of pass plays we gave up and the number of points off the pass.

The problem is that we are going to be so thin up the middle of our defense, that we NEED to address that before we add to cornerback. That probably means taking one inside linebacker in FA, and taking another AND a nose tackle with two of our first three picks. That doesn't bode well for restocking corners and OLB's anytime early in the draft.

Always room for improvement, but we did go from LAST in pass TDs allowed in 2008, to 14th in '09.
