Skelton was a 5th round draft choice who played in his first game this year. Kolb cost the Cardinals an arm and a leg with what they had to give up to get him and what they are paying him. I am astonished at the posters who think that Kolb is better.

At least one of those safeties is on whiz. Personally, I think they both are about 80% play calling. You have an inexperienced qb and you're in the shadow of your own goalposts? Run or at least call a three-step drop and a quick quick pass.

False. He is a professional QB, and he needs to know to get rid of the football. Pennington commented that Skelton had to know that he had to make his read and then let the ball fly. Not the coaches fault at all.

Skelton looks like a guy in his 2nd year nia system. Kolb looks like a guy who is trying to rework 3 years of coaching, while learning an offense and trying to develop chemistry.

No surprise that Skelton and Roberts have a good repoire. They got a lot of work together last year on the 2nd team.

Ditto for kolb. He has to know to get rid of the ball before running backwards 18 yards.

That would be accurate if Skelton was actually playing with the 2nd team---he was the #3 all year, running the scout team, getting no snaps in practice with the 1st or 2nd team, until Week 14.

Kolb has more problems then trying to learn the system. He has some basic flaws which should be way in place at this point in his career. He shouldn't be so much of a project at this point. But he is.

Skelton started 4 games last year and played in 5 total. He wasn't running the scout team while DA and Max Hall were hurt either.

Did you read the "until Week 14"?

Even Whisenhunt---who pondered as to whether Bartel should start in Week 14 having just been signed off the street THAT WEEK---admitted that Skelton had been given no reps with the 1st team all year---that he was running the scout team in practice.

Skelton was mediocre but he did make plays. He did drive the ball downfield to score a touchdown when we needed it. So far I haven't seen Kolb do it once and he had plenty of opportunities. I'm not saying Skelton single handedly won the game for us but he stepped when we needed it.

You can repeat it as many times as you want. Kolb runs when he doesnt need to, only runs backwards (waaaay backwards) and never steps up into the pocket when it's there.

There is no comparison between Skelton pocket awareness and footwork and Kolbs.
I agree 100%... Skelton is no super star. But the guy is pretty solid for a young QB. Way better than Kolb thus far IMO.

Just really sad that people are having to defend a guy with 4.5 years in the NFL who played for Art Briles at Houston and Andy Reid in Philly, and cost the Cards a pro bowl CB and a 2nd round draft pick against a kid with 1.5 years in the NFL who played at Fordham.

Why can't we be on here talking about how much better Kolb looks than Anderson or Leinart and what we need to do at 5-3 to catch the 4and9ers or grab a Wildcard berth?

yea Skelton is better than Kolb or at least equal with upside, Butr it might be that the coaches let him play more fundementally sound than Kolb.

Beanie is hurt, if he was busting some runs Skelton would be even better. But i question if the team is still playing hard? looks like they quit considering it is a divisional game.

Smell-----Its not often that I disagree with you, but saying that the team looked like it quit today was a bad call. The offense did what it could, considering that Skelton was playing rusty, and Beanie is obviously dragging a leg. There was absolutely no quit in the D at all, and they made plays when the coaching allowed them to.

full effort

I seen some selfish quit in them. maybe this will energize them. Rams offense executed- Jackson had Cardinals ducking 2 at a time. Bad tackling.

funny tied at Kurts number going into Overtime.
