Amazing were still number 1 against the run now if we could only get some serious pressure that pass d would improve

And Demarco Murray the week after is no joke. That dude has more rushing yards than 28 Teams.

We give up so much pass yards just do to our focus to stop the run. And all the yards from passing have been big plays, the little dink and dunk stuff happens to everyone. The game plan on defense is stop the run and then let your two corners do their job. Of course there going to let a few get past them. Stats don't look good for PP or Crow but they're doing there part in the roll of Todd bowls system. I wouldn't mind if we had a little more safety help to stop the big chunk plays from happening, maybe well see when Campbell and a few more come back now that the badger is starting to look like his former self??...

It has a lot to do with one game concerning... I don't know, maybe Denver and some fiend named Peyton Manning :pullhair:

This is true. This one game alone hurt our " passing defense stats" it's nothing to be ashamed of. Cards put up a waaaaay better fight against Denver than the niners did and that's with a 2 and 3 qb in with taking Campbell out of the game.

We've played Denver, Washington, and SD who are 3rd, 4th and 6th in passing yards per game so far. That certainly hasn't helped our pass D ranking. Philly (7) and Atlanta (5) are the only games left against top 10 pass offenses.

On the other hand, Dallas, Seattle, and KC are 1, 2 and 3 in rush offense. Those will be true tests for our run D.

The pass defense is 31. That might have something to do with the lack of rushing success. No need to.

Not exactly. Not only are the Cards #1 in rushing yards per game, but they are also #1 in rushing yards per attempt. That means when teams do try to put the ball on the ground, they are unsuccessful.

Good point and I'll add that the Denver game inflated the pass D numbers. Our lack of Pass rush and having to go blitz crazy to create any kind of pressure also leads to the poor pass D numbers.

I think a lot of folks are stupid :D

We're all ignorant. Almost all the time. Those who think they aren't are the most ignorant. People who just read and don't post are smart enough to know they're ignorant. They're the ones we should listen to, but it would just be a lot of blank pages of correctness, and I hate letting facts get in the way of a good post.

Good stuff Darkside and I have to say I've been enjoying the vast majority of you posts, even if they are ignorant in nature and factually inaccurate. :D

Is CC going to be back for this game? Haven't seen his name come up, so I assume he will not be out there Sunday.

Hasn't practiced yet. He is hoping to practice on Friday. If that goes well, he will play. If he doesn't go Friday, he's said he won't go Sunday.

EDIT: Radio says he dressed today. No word on how much he participated.

I'll take progress! Say what you will about the Eagles... they're still 5-1, a returning division champ and beat us last year when our D was much better. This is going to be a tough game and it would be great to have CC in there.

Indeed. The Eagles are a very good team, very dangerous. If Foles gets rolling he can put up BIG numbers.

What you talking about WILLIS!

I'm a flawed fan I admit it! :mulli:
Fact is our DC has gave our loud mouth CB's ( PP and Crow) an opportunity to cash the alligator check their hummingbird Azs have written! They have been weighed, measured and have been found to be wanting! I mean sometimes WR's will win on an island, but at times our CB's are not even close! They are not scaring any QB away from throwing at them. Not even rookie Carr.

Our Run D has sacrificed our pass rush as much as anything, we Blitz a lot! The likes of the next 2 teams will burn us with Rbacks bursting through the line of defenders or on screens. It seems 66% of the time we have only 2 levels with only Deon anywhere near the 2nd level. That is how you burn the Blitz! I have faith our DC will adjust but hasn't done so yet.

We should win but not with the points we have been averaging, I think we will need 27+ the next 2 games, I think Palmer is ready to hit those shots down the field 50% - will our receiver's catch them though? We have been spoiled by the hands of Fitz and Q- but that is not normal. Too me it still starts and stops with the run game- and we do not have the horses to run at will. We have to win by the big play!
