Ok! I am convinced! This is not your Father's Cards! This is the biggest FA signing in over 55 years of me watching the Cards. We are without a doubt an instant contender.

Let us sign an experienced backup for Kurt somewhere along the way just in casde he goes down.

Good work Bidwill & family you have stepped up and made a lot of fans happy. Even if we do not win it I know your tried and that is all I ever wanted. We can go in all directions with our #1 pick now.

A great day to be a Cardinal fan!

There will be an official meeting of the darkside tonight at 6pm to find out how to live in a post darkside world.

Counselors will be on hand to help those cope with the new reality, cookies will be served.

Now lets get some more OL (mostly in the draft) and we are good to go!!!

This will sure make other FA's take the Cards serious and open some doors for us that have never been opened. Possibilities are endless.

Ok....no one throw things at me.....but why can't I find this anywhere else? Seems like it's too big to be this under reported......please forgive my skepticism and the fact that I'm stuck in Georgia listening to how great the overrated Michael Vick is.:bigyawn:

I take it he will wear #32 now that his Miami buddy James Jackson won't be resigned.

Is it a 12 step program. If it is John wont be there he passed up steps 1-11 and went straight to acceptance.

My guess:

4yr/$30M

Almost exactly half of Alexander's deal....

I would think 4-5 yr at $32 - $35 mil with as much a guarantee up front as Alexander.

I think the Cardinals official site should be good enough.

The Arizona Cardinals now have more Edge to them.

FOXSports.com has learned that the Cardinals have agreed to terms with Pro Bowl running back Edgerrin James. Terms of the deal are not yet known, but the team is announcing it later today.

James, who visited the Phoenix area with agent Drew Rosenhaus on Saturday, is the latest big-name running back over the last couple of days to bang out a lucrative deal. Earlier this off-season, Shaun Alexander (Seattle), Ahman Green (Green Bay) and DeShaun Foster (Carolina) all re-signed with their respective teams. Ravens RB Jamal Lewis remains the last big-name free agent running back on the open market.

Arizona was the first and only place he visited on a short-lived free agent tour as James probably knew that the market for running backs was soon to dry up.

James has five seasons in which he rushed for more than 1,200 yards and four seasons with more than 1,500 yards on the ground, including a career-high 1,709 in his second pro season. He's also usually good for 50 to 60 catches out of the backfield during a season. James joins DT Kendrick Clancy and lineman Milford Brown as free-agent acquisitions for Denny Green.

absolutely brilliant move by the FO. None of this 8 year deal nonsense where he wont play anywhere near that long. Now, I would be shocked if he didnt play all 4 years here.

I'm sure its a very nice contract, but I'm very happy, because after 4 years, if his production drops big time, he'll be a FA, and we'll have no cap burden!

I knew that the Cardinals were going to sign him along....

Reasoning... The Cardinals assured Kurt that they were going to land some "stud" FAs which is why he immediately re-signed w/them way prior to the start of FA.....

Then, at the Probowl James insisted to Fitz and the rest of the Cardinals brass that he liked the direction the organization was going in.. plus... he probably had conversations w/Boldin through Rosenhaus...... Also.. making AZ his first visit during Day 1 of FA spoke extreme volumes.... Plus... I am certain that they told James that they will solidify the OL thru FA and the draft which obviously is very significant for him.....

Lord... I'm just elated... We're all on Cloud 9 right now... AWESOME!!!!!
