Lenon = upgrade on Beisal

So, we've strengthened that backup role.

PS: Antonio Pierce, if he can pass a physical, is also still out there.

Reminds me of Casablanca. When Humphrey Bogart walks away from Ingrid Bergman, he tells her, "We'll always have Paris".

And just because it happened just after the Foote signing was announced doesn't mean.........oh wait. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck....

I'm not upset by the "loss" of Foote nor the signing of the marxist I just think he was plan B or C. That plan may have already included shoring up the O-line in FA to take that potential need away during the draft. If Whitehurst is signed then another need is taken away in the draft. With Lenon we won't need to draft 2 ILB's so another need semi addressed.

As Crazy Canadian would say, "We aren't privy to the plan".

Cardiac, ILB is the one position on the team where we have ZERO depth. If they are as disappointed with Hayes as reported, and the other backups include Highsmith (who was cut at one point last year) and Walker, it is obvious we need a lot more than 1 new body at ILB. The timing doesn't indicate as much to me as it does to you. I completely see where your coming from, I simply think we are seeing different ducks :) . The duck you see is that Lenon signs right after Foote signs elsewhere. The duck I see is that we have zero depth at this position, and the team would bring in multiple bodies when multiple spots are available.

Graves seems to be rounding up the usual suspects, but not signing many of them.

This is ALL that this has done.No matter what old ILB is left to fill a short 2 year span.Gerald Hayes CAN'T be counted on for 16 or more games.I perssonally think Hayes is only backup material at best for a NFC West Championship.

Hayes had 2 10 tackle games out of the first 4 last year as we were punking everybodies Run game. His unknown BACK flared up he missed 2 games and returned as a ghost ILB the rest of the year.He also got Punked by the Texans WR on a TD play most hardcore Cardinals fans saw more than once.Embarrassing too.Laid Hayes OUT!

We NEED (3) ILB picks in this DEEP LB draft.Hope we've done our homework.Yes we need a Porter type OLB to replace Okeafor & Berry's sacks and pressure.I pray we got all we thought we got with our SECOND round pick last season in Cody Brown.A wrist injury can be Very tricky to prevent recurrent future problems.

Will Davis will have to have a Calais' Campbell sophmore year without the broken hand, for us to have a pass rush. Can Haggans play as well as he did last year, one more time?

This is the deepest LB draft I can ever remember. We'll see if it pans out.Should even be better than last years crop.Hope for more Matthews type players On the field.
We just replaced the joke of having Monty starting for us ever again.I personally was embarrassed.I'm not even sure Lenon is much better even.Worst move so far with all the others so far making sense.

Not that big of a Foote fan as a 2 year fix,but thought with Porter alongside Haggans would even inspire McFadden to play some REAL Football and with Dockett,CC,A-Dub we could have improved our Defense.
Hope Big Gabe is getting his knee 100% and no excuses this year for him and Branch.Shame on us if we need Robinson to start again for a 16+ season again!!!

Agree with most of this. My biggest concern is with Hayes back issues we didn't see more of Walker.

Other "ducks" still in the pond:

Akin Ayodele
Keith Bulluck
Angelo Crowell
Andra Davis
Thomas Davis <--- Sorry, wrong. He is a RFA. My mistake.
Antonio Pierce
Jeff Ulbrich

Yet, you are extremely angry that the Cardinals didn't sign Larry Foote ? Which doesn't make much sense.

Foote is no better or worse than Lenon. Both are about the same, age, height, wieght.

I don't get it.

Nice depth signing for the Cardinals, IMO. I still think they will visit with some more ILB'ers tho. Since the position is so thin depth wise.
Lenon is awful. He's constantly out of position. He has the awareness of a vegetable. Lenon can't even reach Foote's jockstrap and Foote is just average.

I hope we sign Foote or draft Weatherspoon. Going from Dansby to Lenon is going back to the "Same Ol' Cardinals".

Hey Doug, Welcome back.

I hope we sign Andra Davis and Joey Porter. That certainly would make it easier to take BPA nearly every pick during the draft. I don't see us having much of a chance at McClain, but Weatherspoon (ILB/OLB), Misi (ILB/OLB), Brandon Spikes (ILB), should be available to us, and all would be great draft selections for us. We need to get our 'D' stronger, especially up the middle.

I don't really expect anything from Walker, he was an UDFA last year wasn't he? The part that does bother me is looking at how bad Highsmith and Beisel were, you really do have to wonder why Walker wasn't playing.

Officially Frustrated!

The media is laughing (ie; Cards go with PLAN C). Won't be long before NFL fans will be chiming in with their barbs. ...And somewhere I imagine Bill Sr. is counting his nickles & dimes. :bang: It's not so much that we lost out on Foote, it's HOW we lost out on him. I'd hate to be in the Cards' PR dept. now. OK! Enough venting! Let's see what the Cards do now.

I really don't care what the media or other teams fans say about the Cards. A SB appearance took care of ALL of that for me.

How much Bill Sr has to say is what concerns me. I'm just not sure we "lost" out on Foote.
