Cardinals reached agreement with former Panthers TE Jeff King, filling a need that Arizona had for a blocking TE.
I like it. He doesn't catch a lot of passes, but he's only 27 and he's a great blocker. Nice move, FO.

There goes Todd Heap or Zach Miller.

19 receptions for 121 yards and 2 TD's? Hope he can block a river.

Depends on the deal they gave King.

Most Panther fans really wanted to re-sign him and are sad to see him go. Called him 6th O linemen. We shall see.

Yup. Justwhat the Cards need. Now start running the ball!

I see whats happening. we are going to sign a bunch of guys that can block, probably 2 more blocking tight ends, let Stevie B walk, grab a full back and throw the ball 45 times a game.

I was going to make a list of players I wanted and him or Jon Gilmore were the TE I wanted because of their blocking ability.

He's one of the better blocking TE in the league and is underrated. Pretty solid addition.

King isn't a superstar, but he's worlds better than Spach, whom he'll likely be replacing. He's also the best TE we've had on the roster in years, sadly enough. I like the move.

He is 255, and you don't need to be fat to be a good blocker if you got good technique.

Plus its an upgrade, he had more TD's then Breaston did last year.;)

He's in the same class as a blocker as Kevin Boss (another FA I coveted), but not nearly the receiver. He's not as acclaimed as Kleinsausser (but about 20lbs lighter too) but more effective then T. Gonzalez (who's known as an efficient blocker).

Unlike those other offenses the Panthers were notoriously one-dimensional and despite that he was still successful (aside from an awful game in week 8 versus the Rams).

I understand Miller but Todd Heap?? LOL he is still relevant?

599 yards @ 15 YPC, 6.3 YAC, and 5 TD's last season says he is still relevant and still 100x the best TE we've had in the past 15 years. If we keep Breaston and threw in Todd Heap Kolb (assuming we trade for him which seems imminent) would have plenty of targets. I am still hoping we go for Heap, because King is not much of a pass catcher.

If the Cardinals signed Heap, I wonder how they would use Rob Housler who was apparently brought in as a TE receiver?

Since we only had Housler on the roster, this makes sense.

I'm guessing King would be on the roster as well.
