Anybody remember what Thomas Jones contract status was when we traded him to Tampa for a 12th round draft pick?

One year remaining on his rookie deal. After he performed exceptionally well over the last month of that season with Tampa, pushing Michael Pittman out of the starting job, he was offered a fairly large contract with the Bears that the cash-strapped Buccanneers could not compete with.

That's what I thought. So they traded him before he became an Unrestricted Free Agent.

The bottom line is, the mushheaded, mushmouthed Graves proves (again) that he's a dirty liar, on top of his other sterling features. And that, for whatever reason, Whiz is available to serve as the new stooge mouthpiece.

I never thought I'd say it, but what that crew needs/deserves is a steady diet of Bickley columns. 'Bickley speaks truth to power'--God, that it would come to this.

Rod Graves is not stupid and he's not a liar. Criticize his incompetence in his job if you see it that way but know that Rod is a very bright and honest man.

And now the Bears are trying to trade Thomas Jones. Why?

Didn't Baltimore let RB Holmes go for nothing and he became an all-pro with Kansas City?

I was curious about TJones solely in relation to trading a player when he is an UFA because TJ was the only player I could think of that was a former #1 who was traded by the Cardinals.

The post had nothing to do with talent or whether or not it was a smart move.

No, he's not stupid. He still has his job as the #1 crony representing B. Bidwill and Co. and the bottom line.

Whether he has the best interest of the fan base -
