Cardinals to target QB Bulger in off-season

11/21/2010 5:05:09 PM

Mike Jurecki of XTRA Sports 910 AM in Phoenix reports via Twitter Marc Bulger will be the QB the Cardinals go after in the off season.

Not sure why or how he came up with this after the game today.

If this is true, and they think he will solve the QB problem, the entire front office needs to be fired immediately.

Maybe I could target DA with water balloons...

agree with Dayman, if Bulger is our QBOF, we are doomed for years, nay...decades

You have got to be freaking kidding me. Bring in an old guy with a history of injuries behind a porous offensive line. If Bulger comes here that is just more proof Moxie Hall is QBOF. Everyone hoping for Luck if he declares and is available when the Cards draft is going to be VERY disappointed when the Cards don't take him.

Trying to get more callers for the Sports Talk shows.

When a team loses, at first tons of people call in to bitch. After a succession of losses nobody calls in because no one cares anymore. That's where the Cards are now. Just look at this board. Maybe about a third of the normal ^$%^$#$@#$@# posts after the loss today.

Heard it happen many times.

I am going to downplay this as meaningless midseason chatter because not only is it too early to start taking any media talk about personnel moves seriously, but because if Bulger really is our target QB in the offseason I am going to go outside and puke. On the flip side, if we end up drafting Mallett or Luck (not holding my breath) I would be alright with Bulger as our backup.

At this point, if we somehow manage to win a game or two from here on out Andrew Luck will be gone before we pick.

"mikejurecki Mike Jurecki

From the St.Paul Pioneer Press:

Bulger is mainly interested in Arizona because he likes the look of the Cards new NIKE uniforms.

Bulger could be the starter while they draft a qb like Mallet or Newton that could start after a year. I didn't say Luck as I still don't think he will be there . Regardless you still would want a veteran to start like Bulger. (not DA!!!)

The QBOTF does not get benched 2 times this season for DA. The coach is so sold on Mad Max Hall.

No but the thing that worries me, although it could turn out ok eventually, is that the Cards traded up to get Skelator.

Is he the guy the franchise is counting on to step in and lead the team for the next 4 years. (before they let him go in free agency:p)

You mean the guy that hasn't thrown more TD's than interceptions since the 2006 season? DA's passer rating is probably right in the 68-70 range after today's game. Bulger's had a passer rating of 70.3, 71.4, and 70.7 the past 3 seasons he has played with 27 TD's and 34 INT's. He hasn't played any better than scud has.

Agreed. I just hope this team gets a good veteran QB out there to hold the seat for either Skelator or a draft pick so we don't have to go through another season with awful QB play.

Going back to the Max Hall point, this team has been blown out twice now and Mad Max has received zero playing time!!! I believe the coach is far from sold on Mad Max. ;)

Cosign, they're exhibiting the football savy of a 6 year old.

To even mention this as if it's going to make people see the light at the end of the tunnel as anything other than an oncomming train is a sign IMO of complete incompetence.

You do? I don't. I still think Moxie is the guy. He got pulled twice, but I just think Wiz thinks he's not ready and needs more seasoning. I have no doubt we will see Moxie and a lot of him down the road. Remember Wiz sent Leinart packing and Moxie got a spot on the roster. There is no way Hall does not figure into Wiz's plans IMO.

Boy I hope you are wrong. Moxie will never make it IMO.

I'd take bulger in a heart beat.

So would I, but then again, I'd take anyone over DA. I don't want to draft a QB in the draft. The only college QB I like is Luck & he won't be available. I would look to someone like Bulger or Hill from the Lions. DA is attrocious. If we had Bulger or Hill this year, we'd be 6-4 or better right now. Sign a good vet for 2 years & continue to work with Hall & Skeleton. As big an issue is our defense. Davis has to go & we need to work on our OL & LB's.
