I don't like this. I'd rather we cut Faneca and kept Wells at LG. Oh well, Bridges should be fine at LG.

If we cut Fanaca Hadnot should have started over Wells IMO.

This is a case where it is nice to have actually got something for him instead of just releasing him, which is standard in year's past. This is the same thing with Lienart. If we cannot get at least a draft pick for him, we better not flat out release him and get nothing.

Yeah...did you see the trap block from LG to the right side he made on Alfonso's TD? Good stuff there!

Yup. He has impressed me all pre season.

Great point, BCF. This is yet another manifestation of well the Cardinals' depth has progressed under Whiz...the same reason why we are now winning pre-season games when the coaches don't place that much priority on that.

As for ML...it's not only the salary...but Whiz really blew it by playing ML last night after ML played pretty well last week. Whiz should have let teams chew on that performance. But if you were a team and you tuned in to watch ML last night, would you want to trade for him at his salary, attitude and media notoriety?

He's a better player than that pick. The Super Bowl starting roster dwindles again.

Does it matter if he is a better player then any 6th rounder if the guy wasnt even ever going to be on the active roster on game day to actually be a player.

Cards carry 7 OL guys on game day. The starting 5 plus the two swing guys Hadnot and Bridges would have been the swing OL in front of Wells.

If the reports are true that this is for their 6th rounder in the 2011 draft it is important to note that the pick we will recieve is actually Tampa Bays. Philly traded their 6th rounder to detriot in a trade in the last draft and Tampa Bay traded their draft pick to Philly for Reggie Brown. Which means the 6th rounder will most likely be one of the first picks of the round if TB is as bad as everyone thinks they will be.

This is a different team up top without a doubt. This trade would not ahve been made last year. Wells would have just been cut and we get nothing in return. Good stuff.

I have been waiting for a LONG time for them to dump Reggie Wells.

Wells was a 6th rounder, plays for us for 7 years, and we get a 6th rounder in return.

Excellent!

First off thank you Reggie Wells for being a Cardinal. I have enjoyed your play and effort in Arizona.

Reggie is an athletic starting NFL guard. He has lost a little over the years since RT and pulling as a pulling guard. He signed a decent 2nd contract and earned that eith a SB and 2 playoff runs after the team had some lean years.

Value yes He would have been at least a 2nd round tender if restricted, but Deuce was better and Hadnots contract was more binding. I think Wells is better than Hadnot and cheaper in his last year. but sio is the NFL CBA or lack there of.

Kolb just got better, but I think Kolb is way more unproven than Matt.

Anyway thanks for being a Cardinal MR Wells.your a class act.

Pretty good deal for a player in the last year of his contract. Those late round picks are valuable.

All the Cowboys could get for a skill player Patrick Crayton was a 7th rounder.

Again Wells for a 6th was great value.

This is a smart move by what is looking to be a front office that is improving.

I like the trade. Hadnot is a better version of Wells, and a we rarely acquire late round picks. Plus, with Hadnot and Bridges on the team, there's already a ton of money wrapped up in backup O-linemen.

Now if we could just get rid of Sendlein...
