Weren't the Niners a draw play away from owning the tie-breaker against the Cardinals?

No...division record and point differential says otherwise. They were a draw play away from the possibility of going 9-7, and the Cardinals had a chance to go 8-8......that was before Fitzgerald took Marcus Trufant behind the wood shed on week 17 of the season.

And don't you think putting Warner on that team would have at least given them an extra win or two?

Maybe. Warner is good, but he has A LOT of talent at the WR position here in AZ. The Niners WR's are awful. There starting two WR would be hard pressed to be our #3.

I'd like to see Q here. Rackers too.

Paying Warner more money that could go to those players and other free agents is ridiculous IMHO. The original offer to Kurt was more than fair.

I disagree with a statement I heard made by Warner recently. He said something along the lines of "I'm not only looking to be paid for the next two seasons...I'm looking to be compensated for what I've done in the past for this team."

Uh, you were compensated. You played under contract and cashed your checks from the team.

The current offer is for what Kurt can do in the next two years and has nothing to do with his performance in the past (which was both good and bad).

(Man, I could never own a team or deal with player contracts...)

All that will be water under the bridge so to speak. What if he (helps) leads this team back to the show? Will alot of you acknowledge his value then? Even with Fitz and Boldin it's highly debatable Leinart can do that for this team. With Warner it's not a stretch.

Oh and if they want they still have the $$$$ to re-do Wilson, sign Dansby, re-do Boldin and add a FA CB/S.

John Clayton was on Mike & Mike this AM, and said nothing about an increase to $23M. He said 2-20, and no movement. He is usually right up to speed.

Clayton is never up to speed, He is almost as bad as Mortenson.

Mortenson goes out on the the limb with exact info and is never right where as Clayton gives vague info so he can never be wrong.

Michael Smith of ESPN was just on TV and said the same thing.

2 years 23 million, 12.5 mill gauranteed.

I think I could live on that for two years. The interest on that in a 3.5% treasury would yield around $805,000 a year and you sitll have your principal. You may not live in the high rent district and have to shop a Krogers but what the he-- it is tough out here.
