The only game I see that's not winnable is USC.

Cal is falling apart at the seems
ASU has no identity
We play Oregon tough at home (see 2007 when they were ranked #2)

After three straight road games, its going to be welcoming to be home for three in a row. I just hope this loss doesn't linger

Your welcome for hurting Dixon prior to that game and letting you guys finish his knee.

while that may be true, for UofA, and ASU, no game (with the execption of Wazzu) can be considered a gimme, so while you (and I also include ASU fans) may not see games as "unwinnable", by the same token you can't see games as definent wins either...

And anytime you play on the road as an 18-21 year old kid, it is tough...

I never guaranteed anything. I only said that we have a snowball's chance in hell of beating USC @ USC. The three games I mentioned are astute observations I've made of all teams in the PAC 10 and their glaring weaknesses. Right now, ours is consistency.

Trust me, I only predicted 7 wins this season, 8 if we got a lucky bounce (but Washington stole that lucky bounce from us).

Good memory, but excuses don't evade the fact that we won that game. The prior year, we beat a #2 ranked UCLA team. As a matter for fact, we blew them out by 28 points IIRC.

Like I said to ASUDUDE, the only game I believe is un-winnable for us is USC. And I'm not declaring the rest of them as victories at the same time.

gotcha.. yeah I see what you are saying...

Same goes for ASU, I think one will finish 4th, on will finish 5th, I just don't know which one where

Has it gotten so bad in Tempe that their fans are relegated to gloating over UW wins?

Arizona dominated the game statistically, had a couple bad bounces, and couldn't convert in the red zone. Whatever, weird stuff like that happens on the road. We'll still win seven games and still have a QB that can play for the next three years.

And ASU will finish 4th in the conference? Wow.

Are you sure about that?

In order to win 7 games you will have to sweep your next three AND win @ASU...

I don't know that ASU will finish 4th or even 5-6th, but guarenteeing UofA will win 7 games is laughable

They'll win at least two of the next three, surprise somebody in November, and win either a bowl game or at ASU. Pretty easy to get there. Arizona has shown they can play unlike your team.

Alright DBag - since I didn't comment on your last little post in the Cardinals forum and you have taken it as some sort of win for youself, I will take the time to break it down for you real slooow and simple like.

The first post was stating the "bandwagon" as in the caravan of fans. Or us fans as a group. Not as in "Bandwagon fans" who start cheering for a team because they are good. Otherwise the context of which I was writing would have been calling myself and all other Cardinal fans cheering for Wiz, as new fans who just recently started liking the team because they went to the Super Bowl.

The second post was in reference to that goof Azsouth calling me a "bandwagon fan" as if I started cheering for the team last February.

Does that make much sense? You do realize that two words that sound the same can mean two different things, right? Like "bat" (like in baseball) and "bat" (like the animal). That's called a homonym. That's like second grade right there. I apologize I didn't explain it further.

As for this thread. There wasn't anything stating that UA was going to win. I am happy with how we played last night. I don't have delusions of us going to the BCS this year. That was a fluke play.

Go reread my post. I said 1) UW will beat you next week 2) Foles is very good. Nothing has changed on that front.

There has been no "arguing" in this thread.

God you are simple. Why don't you do me a favor and put my on ignore fanboy. I must remind you of the kids who used to trash-can you back in high school and you feel the need to be hostile and run your mouth.

But I think (from what I know of you) you are a joke. Beneath me.

So just drop it because its obvious the hamster running the wheel in your head took a couple days off when you were "reading" my last couple posts. Hopefully I cleared it up.

If you include the Bowl Game, yes I think there is a good chance you guys can get to 7 wins, I was assuming you meant by the end of the regular season...

And ASU has an identity, it is their Defense, but you are absolutely right, they don't have one on offense..

In the end, as much as you hate to admit it, ASU and UofA are not that different right now, both look like they have bright futures, but at the moment, both are medicore and will have to fight to make a bowl game this year

To get this back on track, from a big picture standpoint it appears UW will be back under Sark. Not good for Arizona and ASU fans now that the traditional powers of the Pac-10 (USC, UCLA, UW) are all under good hands and newer power Oregon still looks good under their new regime. Our window is next year to make a statement and then after that things don't look so good.

Nope. Arizona's window is 2010, ASU's is 2011. After that neither program will have much of a shot to do anything significant in the near future assuming things stay the same locally and throughout the conference from a coaching standpoint.

I am not sure how you can say this. We beat a team on the road that you got crushed by at home.

We have a good passing game (look at the numbers for Foles last two starts), three good RB's, and have given up like one sack in the last two games.

And while our defense has let me down the last two weeks they are the consensus strength of the team.

And even though we lost yesterday on a fluke play, keep in mind its alot of our second string that has been doing the damage. That shows our depth.

So no, I am not sure 5 games into the season that you can compare the two.

Neither of us are going to the BCS, but as of right now if we play you guys on a neutral field we open up as a 7pt fav.

That's definitely one thing that worries me about Erickson. Not only has he done a mediocre job so far, he's obviously not a long term option.

Watched most of the Washington game, what an unbelievable finish. Foles looks pretty good, albeit with a limited game plan. Regardless, the short stuff was wide open all day, and Foles was really effective.

nah there weren't any My New Haircut lookin dudes at my high school.

you told him not to come back on the bandwagon when the team started clicking in 2-3 weeks. That's no homonym.

Definitely crazy, I think we would've punched one of those red zone opp's in if we had our full compliment of RB's and won the game but you know what happens sometimes.

And the notion that Foles numbers are really a mirage of short passes is laughable. If the bubble screen was so easy to throw then everyone would do it. Only a few college QB's have the accuracy, quick release, and arm strength to do it against a Pac-10 defense.

What happened to our running game? Did Grigsby and Antolin get hurt again because Nwoko got a lot more burn then I thought he would?

Nick Foles is STILL A DEVIL AT HEART!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't see this gem by the new and (already one of the worst) posters on the board.

Foles used to love ASU. Committed to Dirk Koetter on the spot right after being offered and was more than happy to keep his commitment under Dennis Erickson when the coaching change occurred. It was his dream school growing up and he hoped to become a legend there.

Then Erickson decided he wanted Chasen Stangel (currently NAU's backup) and Samson Scascky (3rd string QB in an abhorrent offense) both of which will never start a meaningful college football game before Foles. Foles and his family got over ASU quick and ended up on scholarship at MSU and as a walk-on at UA while his family still harbors some resentment to Erickson over it. So no, he's not a Devil at heart. Far from it actually.

Hopefully your delusion helps you sleep at night though because if Erickson had let Foles fulfill his childhood dream then ASU would be in the top 25 right now, which is where Arizona will be in a few weeks at 6-2 if they can get by Stanford this weekend.

I love how you are the all knowing of what indivduals are feeling and thinking inside... Do you know Foles personally and have had conversations about his current resentment toward ASU's program, or are you assuming based on how the process went down

I think the poster was saying is MAINLY TOUNGE-IN-CHEEK, and was not serious about him still wanting to be a Devil dude...

Again, I am not saying your are wrong, I am just pointing out you put people down, while claiming facts that you don't know about...

(And for the record, if the aforementioned poster was serious, I take it back and there is no help for the individual, but I think he was kidding)

Dennis Erickson basically yanked Foles' scholarship offer to a school he had planned on attending for years by recruiting two QB's over him. Everyone would be pissed at a coach who pulled such a manuever right or wrong. Of course none of this will be said publicly due to the Foles family somewhat being public figures but that's what happened.
