I'm hearing reports indicating the Bidwills are petitioning the NFL to change the franchise name to The If Healthy Cardinals.

If healthy they will probably not play at the same level as they were prior to injuries.
All three of their signings so far ended last year on the IR. Bradford denies he has a degenerative knee and I hope Keim didn't sign him without having that confirmed, that would be stupid if he didn't get that checked out by team doctors.

Pugh is coming off a back injury (not good for any NFL position) and Smith had a knee injury so these injuries tend to have long term effects on players.

I think the Cardinals are doing the best job possible considering their options. These are risky signings but nobody doubts the talent. I think our OL is significantly upgraded if they stay healthy (can be said for any team).

I didn't want to pay Cousins and felt Bradford was the BPA left in the QB category.

We need a #2CB and a #2 WR (one with upside would be nice). We also need a solid #2 RB that can carry the load if necessary.

Fitz is our #2. We are in DESPERATE need of a #1, as well as a depth WR.

Looking at a lot of guys coming off injury. That never fills me with a lot of confidence.

And honestly... 9 million for Pugh... coming off back problems? Why not just go out and get the MEGASTUD Norwell with that 9 million and pass on Glennon’s pathetic ass and throw his 4 million there?

Sometimes I just don’t get our priorities. Letting Campbell go while throwing 7 million at Gresham? He wasn’t worth Bear that much or near important to the team so why spend so much there for a guy who’s done next to nothing instead of using 3 or 4 million of that salary per and pass it on the a Pro-Bowl linemen still in his prime an use the leftover to get a TE?

Just head scratching decisions from this team sometimes.

Its mind boggling, it really doesnt make sense. It screams incompetence. Its like Keim likes to think hes smarter than everyone else and likes to throw a weird twist on everything and gets cute

Degenerative means "progressive deterioration". You can't really set a timeline on this. Pugh's back injury was muscle related, not structural and almost all injuries have longer-term effects.

Have we had a quote from one doctor saying he has a "degenerative knee"... I have before heard a lot of coaches say a whole lot of stupid with an agenda most people buy

Needless to say his knee is not going to get better, probably not a good idea to spend $15M - $20M on a QB with that condition and gamble that this is the year it doesn't completely give out. NYJ signed Bridgewater to a max of $15M if he reaches incentives, so maybe ARZ overpaid.
Back muscle problems can lead to herniated disks which can be just as debilitating as structural damage. Point is Keim is taking a huge gamble on guys who are not coming off minor injuries.

I don't know how the "degenerative" diagnosis got out, but I am not sure if an actual doctor confirmed this or it was just thrown our by the media.
I am just hoping Keim did his due diligence.

Cards had Bradford go through a team physical before the contract was finalized. He passed. If Cards thought Bradford was a bad risk wouldn't the team have voided said contract?
You mean Kiem doesn't do the physical himself??? That's the impression I got from reading this board the last few days.

Well there's only 7 guys with more receiving yards than him in 2017! You have high expectations for a #2 for sure. Or you're so wrong even you know it.

Yes, Fitz is still an excellent player. He's the BEST WR we have, by far, but he's not the #1 WR on the offense. If you knew what you're talking about, you'd realize this is a positional discussion, not a talent discussion. The #1 WR position is the outside role, with speed and downfield ability being key. The #2 WR position is an inside position filled by a more possession-oriented WR--the position Fitz has actually been playing for a while now.

It's not a "Fitz is great" thing; it's a "what position on the team does he actually play" thing. You're so wrong you don't even realize the basis for the discussion. Sorry, you're the one who went snarky, not me.
