I have been on board for Teddy for months...

Bridgewater
Rookie
Barkley

that would work for me too...all of them young...and all of them have shown talent... Barkley would also likely come pretty cheap as an experienced guy, and SK is familiar with him

I think Bridgewater is a fascinating option as well, Oaken. I don’t really see the downfall if they would also bring in someone who could realistically produce something as a starter in games if necessary, maybe someone like Josh McCown or Matt Barkley, as well as probably draft someone, like you wrote. Then it wouldn’t really have any impact in terms of results on the field if Bridgewater ever will regain his former high level of play, but the potential reward would be huge.

The one doubt I have is that the Vikings know all that as well. They have even seen him first hand in practice for some months, and at least as far as we know, they don’t really seem to have any reason not to give him a prove it-deal at a low cost. So, if he did reach free agency I think that might be a little bit of a red flag.

what I would look for there...is if the Vikes do not offer him a legit starters type deal,...it may hurt his feelings and make him look elsewhere.

the rumors have been all over the place...some saying they want to re sign Keenum,..others saying they plan to move forward with Bridgewater...
if I were him, all things considered...I might see if I could force them into tagging me... gives him some guaranteed cash just in case. Tough call for them... they cannot sign two guys to starter money...if they let Keenum walk and he plays elsewhere their fan base will be rabid if Teddy aint back to 100%...

If I were them, I would let Keenum walk and try and split the difference between Teddy and Bradford... give them $15mil each for three years.... but that likely wouldnt work, lol.

Bridgewater is only interesting (not to me, but I could see why to others) if he is healthy. And that's not just a huge "if", it's a ginormous one. It's continent-sized. It's the newest planet discovered in the galaxy kind of big. That leg was mangled. Who can say if he ever comes back 100 percent healthy?

and he was nothing more than a mediocre game manager prior to injury.

If I were minny, I'd let Bradford walk and keep Keenum and Bridgewater.

What a disaster this guy must have been, arguably the top corner in the league in his prime, told to get the hell away from his team.

a 4th and a 2nd....he was worth EVERY PENNY!!!!!

Add to it he's only a 1.7 mill cap hit.

HEY KEIM ....WAKE UP!!!! Peters and Peterson.....it had a nice sound to it didn't it. How the heck did YOU not get this deal!!?! Having those two at CB would be all world. Instead it's Peterson and NO ONE....thanks dude.

Or Keim wanted no business with a known headache like Peters in the locker room. The fact that Reid was only able to get that for a top-tier CB should tell you something. Hell, the fact that Reid was willing to trade Peters in the first place should be enough.

Yep. Teams don't trade away a top CB that's only 25 for so little. Hell, half the league is looking for a CB and the Chiefs only got this much for him.

And never trade with Andy Reid. He will screw your team to earth's end. Rams will learn this the hard way by November.

He must really be a locker room cancer but DEN won a SB with Talib so it shouldn’t be a deal breaker unless there is some legal trouble coming his way no one knows about.

Meh...it is a calculated risk that you have zero long term investment in. They have him for two years essentially, and they can cut him free and clear prior to year 2 with no cap hit. He is a premier talent, and if he flops, you are just out two fringe players. Smart move.

In a van...down by the river.
So does anyone know what the price for Peters was.
I'm hearing it's Peters and a 6th.....for this years 4th and next years 2nd from the Rams.

Easy deal for LA who don't want to vastly overpay Trumaine Johnson in FA. Not to mention Peters is a better CB who's still on his rookie deal.

LA has a strong locker room culture and Wade Phillips is maybe the best DC qualified to get Peters bought in to just playing football IMO.

It is probably a attitude problem which is caused by something else, ya drugs or something. Sure there is testing and all that but teams know about their players and what they think is on the horizon and a lot of the problems or opinions of a player are never shared with the public, be it professional courtesy or public relations. This is probably why a few teams got the call and so no thank you, because word gets around on teams. All in all, it's a low risk deal for the player Peters is and if the Rams think they can hold him together for even a year to win a championship, why not

You act like we can make every deal that you perceive as a good one. It takes two sides to make a deal. Hard to say if was even possible for us to get involved. Now if we hear the cards were a "team interested" or a team "that had their chance", and didn't get involved blast away. But remember it remains to be seen if the Lambs made a good deal or not.

Adam Shefter is reporting that there is a six round pick involved as well, not sure if it is this year or next.

Actually, it's the Chiefs sending a sixth round pick from this year back to the Rams.

Like other posters in this thread, I think it is a major red flag that the Chiefs obviously wanted to get rid of him. I mean, he is arguable the best pure cover corner along with Patrick Peterson in the league, he is young, and he has two years left on his rookie deal. Teams simply don’t let go of guys like that, and if they were to even think about it you would have to at the very least offer something like two first round draftpicks.

Also, that John Dorsey from the Browns and Chris Ballard of the Colts didn’t want him is another red flag to me. Both of those teams need cornerbacks and defensive playmakers, and both of those guys worked in the Chiefs’ front office when they drafted Peters. They would definitely know what they would be getting.

I read that the Chiefs called every other team in the NFL, regarding this trade...and the Rams were the only takers.

was this the guy who was on NFLN the other night talking about how wrong the chiefs were for blaming the playoff loss on Smith?
