We have 32 year old Robert Alford that hasn't played in 2 full seasons damnit. How dare you say we don't have CB #2 lol

Watch all of us make a mockery of Alford all off-season (me probably the loudest) only to see him have this breakthrough come back season.

and then leave as a FA next year.

I hear ya but we can wish for him to play good in one hand & poop in the other one to see which one fills up first? I guarantee one hand will smell bad more so than the other one's wish coming true lol. 2 seasons ago I had faith he could still play but now............time will tell?

We need to draft a rookie, best one available or trade up to get one. Let Alford show him the ropes on how to play the position at the pro level. Let's not forget how well Alford played for the Falcons during the Super Bowl run. He started having nagging injuries the next season so they released him. At best he can hopefully be a decent #2 CB? I've been looking at some mock drafts the last few days & they have us taking Farley from VA Tech.

honestly, if that’s really the plan, we just have to throw reason out the window and hope it works out.

there’ll be plenty of time to bemoan it during and after the season if/when it goes south.

trying to look on the bright side, if the guy is healthy, he’ll be out there with something to prove, if nothing else.

Am I really starting to talk myself into Alford actually being the plan as a starter?

It’s called scrabbling for crumbs in the face of a bare cupboard at present.

Might as well because he's gonna be at least the #2 CB & they didn't resign him to not start. Unless he freaking gets hurt again. Putting faith in him staying healthy is about like trusting Gilbert to lol. I hope SK can pull off a trade for one of the Patriots corners? Then draft a rookie for the future. It would be awesome to draft Farley or one of the other top CB's in the first round & then get Newsome in the second but that just ain't gonna happen. At one time Newsome was considered a second rounder but his stock has went up since his pro day I assume? Now he's being mocked in the first. That's a dream scenario with our first two picks being CB's but hey, it's nice to dream now & again lol.

Keim do what he takes to get him
We are lucky this guy is available, considering how bad is our cb situation right now
This can change things, and we don't have to be forced to draft a cb at 16
Maybe trade down and getting Jenkins or Greg newsome
If we add couple of picks more, then go with WR, OLB, OT/cb, rb

Even if we get fuller, which I seriously doubt, I still want to use the first rounder on a corner so we are set for the following year. It’s a really tough position to have a deficit in.

When looking at the free agent CBs (which we pretty much all acknowledged were terrible) I don't have an issue with this approach. Adding some cheap vets who know the game and can play a zone scheme is better than spending on guys who are only marginally better.

Welp, Fuller gone. Xavier Rhodes gone. Getting down to Dre Kirkpatrick being an option at #1 CB.

So many people were saying that Patrick Peterson was over the hill and needed to be let go. Maybe those people are right. But my main concern was always who are we going to get to replace him? Peterson has lost a step but he can still shutdown DK Metcalf.

It looks like we're gonna have to pray that the corner at 16 is the new PP21.

Funny you bring this up. Saw a replay of Pp21 covering Metcalf. He made up ground to break up the pass. However the ball was grossly under thrown and should have been a td. He was 3 or 4 yards past Peterson.
