But that's the problem, just because ARZ gave him a decent contract (he's only making $6M this year) doesn't mean he should be given the starting gig. He's coming off an injury plagued year and there should be someone brought into compete with him. If Alford wins the competition then he's the starter, if he can't beat out a guy like Claiborne then he shouldn't be the starter anyways.Keep in mind that Alford has already been pencilled in at the #2 CB...anyone else they signed was probably going to be just depth anyway.
We don't know if Claiborne was even willing to be a #3 on this team. Maybe that's what drove Keim to Brock.
