Ok, we have some mocks here that don't have us taking an OT first.

Sounds good to me...:D

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/mock-draft

Rangs looks like a pretty solid mock draft at this stage. But things will obviously change. As good as Clowney has the potiential to be if he keeps his head out - I just can't see Houston not addressing their QB situation first. Can Bortles be that pick?? That's some climb for that prospect!

Anyway, who would you go for between the two choices of Amaro or Hageman. Or do you go in another direction?

We will predicate this survey assuming we have signed a LT in FA.

Not to be a pill, but your have "other" as a selection, but we don't know who has been chosen.

I mean I would put "Other = Matthews, LT, Texas A&M"

But, I am assuming he has already been chosen.

The more I research and talk about this draft, the better the talent that will be there at 20 is looking.

There are at least 5 players in that list I would be happy with.

Ealy, or Amaro ? ....Someone else ?

Hmm....

Kony Ealy

Amaro( we would be like the 2012 Falcons)

Hageman( will destroy the combine and put up JJ Watt type scores

Tuitt( Richard Seymour clone? Some scouts say he is)

Pryor( I want a pass rusher but I wont throw my pizza at the TV if we land this stud

IF a Left Tackle is signed in FA then I would draft Hegemann or Ealy. Then you have your replacement for Dockett and since there are still many pass-rushers available and also quite a few TEs available who would be roster upgrades in other rounds.

Jace Amaro, but beware Patriots trading up to get him. Brady needs help now.

Did you intend for this poll to be non public?

Hageman would replace Dockett. Ealy would replace Abraham. I think Dallas

is the biggest threat to take Ealy at 17. I hope they go with the Alabama

safety or Jernigan so Hageman and Ealy are still in play

Yes, Mathews has been chosen. We're working off of Rang's Mock, which I thought was the better of the two as of right now. Sorry, it wasn't clearer.

Oops, No, oversight. I had to belt this out and do some work. I'll see if it can be changed.

True, Ealy for the Cardinals would take over for Abraham mainly at the WOLB
spot in the year or so. That would be pretty exciting to see.

Having him and Acho back along with Abraham would bode well for this D.

That would more or less show Shaughnessy the door though. Would they still be as good against the run then?

I'm assuming LT is signed FA so I went with Hageman. If not LT is signed I'd go with Kouandjio.

Not a fan of either especially Rang's who has us passing on Haha. We can't seriously take Jace Amaro over him. And Brugler's mock with us taking Hageman is BPA I guess but I don't see it being much of an impact pick for us. Dan Williams already plays really well when he's in and our defensive scheme doesn't call for a dominant interior rusher. I guess it can't hurt but I don't see how it would make our defense any better.

I think Sam Acho is a very solid football player.

That being said, I agree. I don't see him getting his starting spot, and I don't think he has a good shot at keeping his roster spot with so many OLBers on the roster.

OLBer is going to be very interesting this offseason. You can say Acho is good against the run, but if that is why you keep him, then cut Acho and resign Shaughnessey who is even better at playing the run than Acho.

Of course that is IMHO, there are a bunch of ways this can go this offseason.....nice to have options.

There are 7 or 8 players on that list that I'd be very happy with, so I guess I'd lean towards trading down.

I guess it's just me, but I don't see it in Amaro. The system he plays in is going to inflate his stats and I don't think, talent-wise, he has much higher of a ceiling than Housler. He's probably a better football player than Housler but on ability alone, I think they are very similar.

On the other hand, Ebron usually showed he's the best player on the field almost every game and he's the only TE I would consider in round 1.

I agree. The only TE who is a top 20 player (BPA) is Ebron.

This.

I think SK is a pretty good shot so I'd like to give him more bullets. :)

What happened to the thoughts that the Cards wanted a TE who can Catch AND block?Amaro and Ebron are just WRs pretending to be TEs.

To be fair, Rob Housler's ceiling is/was pretty high. It's just that his floor is also pretty low, and he hasn't really risen to his talent level at a consistent level, and he's running out of time.

What happened with Teddy Bridgewater? I thought he was the consensus top QB? Did people just get bored with him?

Probably that and front runner syndrome. Remember how bad front runner syndrome got Peyton Manning's Sr year? So bad that Charles Woodson won the Heisman and Ryan Leaf was being touted as a better pro prospect than Manning.
