Kiwi basketballer Sean Marks may be headed for the Phoenix Suns.

Marks' NBA career has taken a sudden twist, with San Antonio taking him off their injured reserve list to make way for injured point guard Jason Hart.

It is understood Spurs still want to retain Marks, but under NBA rules, another team can pick up his services within 48 hours.

The Suns wasted no time, registering their interest after just one hour.

Sean Marks has indicated he is keen to stay with San Antonio, but if Phoenix insists on signing him he may have no choice.

Chaplin, I'm guessing you left off the smiley face....

This guy sucks. He has bounced around the NBA for four years already and played a grand total of 57 games, averaging just over 10 minutes per. He shoots under 42% from the field and under 64% from the line, and he averages a foul every 7 minutes on the floor.

And he's 28 years old.

That's a little misleading. Jake Voskuhl averages a personal foul every seven minutes also, and unless they are planning on playing Marks 40 + minutes per game he won't foul out every night. :)

This might help a little, but it doesn't look like the solution to the Phoenix Suns' center woes.

I remember Sean Marks from the WC.

He is a hard-working bigman who can play some D.
He is Dejan Koturovic Jr. or the less talented (is that possible?) and bit smaller version of Jake Voskuhl.

I don't mind a center that fouls some. The real issue is whether he make his fouls count. No "and ones"

Shaq should feel it a little too.

I'm assuming, since Marks was waived that the Suns expressed their interest by making a waiver claim. If no other team makes a claim then he's ours. If another team makes a claim - they have 48 hours from when SA put him on waivers - he goes to the team with the worst record.

I read on another board that Marks is 6-10, 250. He has played 3 seasons - 1 for Toronto and 2 for the Heat. I hope he has no relatives named Longley...

I can't tell if anyone got your joke.

I couldn't either, but it looks like you make at least one. Or, rather, you make Number One.

LOL

If Marks is 6'10" he probably didn't even have to look down. He could have just turned his head.

Here's a funny little story about the W. C. . Enjoy

Joe Mama

One day an English Lady was looking for a room in Switzerland. She asked the local schoolmaster if he could recommend anything she might like. She finally decided on a quaint little apartment and returned to the Hotel at which she had been staying. When she got back she suddenly remembered she had not seen a Water Closet (commonly known in America as a bathroom). She immediately wrote back to the schoolmaster asking him if the apartment had a W.C. The schoolmaster upon receiving the letter did not understand the meaning of the abbreviation, W.C. He took it to the local priest to see if he knew the meaning, and they finally decided it must stand for Wayside Chapel. This is how the schoolmaster answered the letter.

Dear Madam:

I am happy to inform you that we do have a W.C. It is located nine miles from the house in a beautiful garden surrounded by a grove of pine trees. It seats 300 people, and is open Monday, Wednesdays and Sundays, which is not real handy if you are in the habit of going regularly.

My dearest ladyship, I suggest you go on Wednesdays for there is an organ accompaniment and even the most delicate sound is audible. The W.C. is very busy during the summer months, so I suggest you go early and get a seat even though there is plenty of standing room. Some families come with packed lunches and make a day of it.

I am proud to say my daughter was married in the W.C. It was there she met her husband for the first time. I remember the rush for seats that day. There were ten people in the seat I usually occupy, and it was very uncomfortable. We have been planning a bazaar, and the proceeds are to go toward the purchase of plush seats, even though they are not needed. We recently had a bell erected on our W.C. which rings every time someone enters. My wife is a very delicate woman and cannot get to the W. C. very often. It has been six months since she last went, and it hurts her very much to go.

Well, I must say good-bye for now, and if you are still interested, I shall be happy to save you a seat next to mine.

Sincerely,
The Schoolmaster

I thought W.C. was a german abreviation for public toilet.

Yes, that's the point of the joke. It's a fairly standard abbreviation throughout Europe, in my experience, and also recognized (though less used) in the U.S.

I don't think it is really used in the other big european coutries.

I am pretty sure that in Britain they also say public bathrooms at least that's how I remember it when I was over there , in France they say pissoire/toilet and I am not sure about Italy.

I was just surprised you rather think of Water Closet than World Cup´when someone writes WC. I wasn't even thinking of that and I am using a WC almost daily in my university :).

Apparently we've been to different parts of France, slinslin. :D I know I have seen it in other countries too. In fact Germany is the one major European country I have not spent any time in.

I wonder whether the rules are a little different this early in the season. It seems absurd that, for example, Sacramento would get dibs over Seattle because Sacto is 2-1 while Seattle has a 2-0 record after starting the season with two games against the Clippers.

That's too bad , there isn't much positive things I could say about the other countries compared to germany. They are just not up to par with the living standards.
But most of them have much better beaches.

France has the Cote d'Azur, Paris Tour d'Eiffel.

Italy got Rome and Milano but Rome is really dirty in my opinion. It is good to go over there and check out the Colliseum and stuff like that but I wouldn't travel a 2nd time.

Basically all the capitol or big cities in europe are worth a trip, London, Barcelona, Paris, Berlin, Munich, Milano, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam.

Best places in europe to go on vacation are most of the Greece inslands in my opinion. They have nice beaches, nice water and a lot of history to explore if you chose the right spots.
Though it is probably cheaper to travel to some caribean islands for you guys.

I'd have to give my vote to Greece as well. My favorite spot in Greece has to be Rhodos/Rhodes.

It's the smaller European cities that are better.

Verona, Vicenza, Florence, Pisa, Salzburg (the best), Vienna, Innsbruck, Heidleberg, Aachen.

Yeah Rhodos is nice. I have also been to Kreta but it is not as in my opinon, there are just too many tourists.
