Ah, the "Just one more tank" argument. Right up there with "Just one more drink" and "One more fix."

But, luckily, the Suns don't need to tank. They are just that bad. Unless the Suns manage to pull of a miracle of a trade, they'll be in top 5. Then we can start arguing about tanking just one more time next year.
Cripes the suns have tanked ONCE and that was only for the last portion of last season. You guys make it seem like they’ve been tanking for ages. They aren’t even tanking at present. You guys frame things in false light to try to bolster your argument “oh woe is us, our team has been tanking forever to no end” - uh, no. Tanked for a part of a season and ended up with a rookie brimming with potential.

It just feels that way. :lmao:

The Suns have drafted #5, #4 and #4 since 2013.

Jesus... I was just stating why I think the tankers think we still need to do it.

And to be honest with you, if we get boned out of one of the difference makers, we’ll prob need to be awful again because here’s reality Stef:

1. Outside of Booker, THIS TEAM IS DEVOID OF DIFFERENCE NAKERS.

2. We aren’t getting a great FA because Sarver sucks and we can’t pay a great FA as much as their home team can.

We are not getting free agents because nobody wants to play for chronic tankers. Sarver has proven he is willing to spend the money. He's just spent it unwisely. It is true that "home" teams can pay more, however.

I agree with you that the Suns need more talent. Outside of Booker, Warren is the only good player on the roster. One could make an argument for Monroe and Chandler as well, but they are certainly not difference makers.

Reading my post again, I can see it didn't come out the way I wanted it to come out. I am sick of losing and tanking, so I am cranky, and it came out wrong. My apologies.

Again you persist with BS. This team has tanked a portion of ONE season. There’s nothing “chronic” about that. And no matter how many times you claim it, type it, state it, will never make it true. Stop the BS.

I'm thinking @SirStefan32 may have meant to say chronic losers.

Apologies accepted!

But Chronic tankers? We did it once last season.

McD’s inability to actually build a team, Running Of his mouth post and pre trades, players constantly bad mouthing the team while on it AND after leaving it and Sarver’s rep, plus the inability to actually pay difference making FA is why we can’t get marquee FA, IMO.

We’ve only “tanked” once and didn’t even bother to go after FA. Truth is, the franchise has been looked at as trash for almost a decade now and I truly believe the only way it won’t is by getting better via the draft.

I was at the game last night. Chriss might have some amazing athletic ability, but you'd never know it the way he moves around like a mopey teenager. Hopefully he learns to grow out of that, and sooner than later.

I'll likely be at the next game @Golden 1 in a few weeks. Crossing my fingers that Booker will be back and in rhythm by that time.

I think you have described Chriss accurately. He needs to want to be good and have the inner drive to get there.

That's the truth. By definition, all tankers advocating losing. Losing teams do not necessarily hope to keep losing until they luck out in the draft.

After all these years of losing, the Suns' problem are the owner and Front Office. With all the changes over past years, they take stabs at extremes -- 3 lead Point Guards, all offense-no defense, etc. Inexperienced young players and a few past their prime or rentals. Absolute lack of balance.

They just don't have the talent or a plan to build a winner -- obviously. As evidenced by: what is the plan right now? Both before Devon was injured and after he comes back. There is no positive plan.

That is so natural for instant millionaires. The "need" is for the Front Office and coaching staff to be the difference maker. And ours has evidently not been successful in that regard.

A Tyson Chandler and Junk Yard Dog can not be expected to make it happen without a talented management team as the foundation.

I think the Suns are beyond tanking BC. There has to be intent on losing games. However, that said, I don't see any reason for the Suns to go out of their way to win games either.

I do hope McDonough unloads some of their big men which he does not seem obliged. I hope it is a bluff.

McDonough also is reluctant to deal from a position of strength, pointing out that if he trades a center and one of the two remaining centers gets hurt, the Suns will be shorthanded.

“I get that it’s a challenge for Coach (Jay) Triano and his staff,” McDonough said, “but at the same time that’s what good teams do. They have depth and balance and manage the minutes and manage the situation even if it’s not perfect for anybody involved.”

When Williams returns in March the Suns will have four centers.

There are plenty of millionaires with motivation and drive. We can only hope that Chriss develops the hunger with age. It's important to draft players who already have it. Jackson appears to have the hunger. Let's hope his game follows.
