Was already reported in the "Cleveland trades future first round pick?" thread.

Pavlovic looks decent but his shooting numbers were horrible.

Oops, missed it before, sorry.

I would think that FG% is one of the hardest things to establish for a young Euro rookie getting limited time in a completely new system.

Good pickup for Cleveland.

Maybe Kapono is a 2nd rounder and thus harder to keep after his contract is up? Pav... has 3 more years on rookie salary.

From what I understood, Cleveland had no choice but to leave Kapono unprotected (I believe they actually didn't want to). Knowing that Charlotte really wanted him, I guess, they made this deal for Pavlovic to replace Kapono. Sounds stupid to me, but I'm guessing it's based on the Bobcats' value of Kapono, more than the Cavs' value of Pavlovic.

Pavlovic was considered a terrific shooter when they drafted him last year - much better than Zarko BTW. I'm guessing the Cavs believe he is better suited to play SF in an up tempo game. If they are right, it will make a big difference. Maybe the Bobcats did it to give the Cavs a better chance to get into the playoffs and use the pick they just got from the Suns.

BTW, I think this will shift the Cavs priority to drafting a PG. It will be Nelson or Harris if he drops that far.

George, there's no way I'm letting you get the last word anywhere here. :)

I think a lot of it had to do with money and guaranteed contracts as well. Kapano's contract is done after this season, and he only gets $620,000. In fact Drobjnak is the only guy Charlotte drafted who is guaranteed money next season.

If you watched the expansion draft on TV it sure sounded like they are planning on moving Pachullia as well.

In another thread I listed what they did - 9 RFAs and White was the only guy over $3 million. They just loaded up on guys with minimum contracts, although I think there are a few keepers in the bunch.

This is exactly what Bickerstaff said he was going to do - yet no one believed it. HoopsHype indicates that they have only $13 million in salaries if they keep all their guys under contract. For $13 million cash (not counting the $3 from the Suns), they could go to $30 million in cap space.

It is absolutely amazing.

That doesn't sound stupid at all. Actually that's what has happened, IMO.
