Per Mike Jurecki, Kent Somers and NFL cap guru Andrew Brandt, the new CBA contains an out clause for prorated signing bonuses that allows NFL teams to release two players every year who have large signing bonuses and instead of having them accelerate immediately when released, the cap hit would instead defer into the following season. That means, we could release Kevin Kolb and instead of saving one million dollars due to the prorated signing bonus acceleration, we would save 10 million dollars and defer that other 9 million dollars until 2013.
