Real quick question...
Anyone think Artest knows who he is yet?

Absolutely he should still play. Once he hits that first 3 (which will come eventually), the Lakers will have to pay attention.
I think they should run a couple isolation plays down on the post for him. Putting him at the free throw line last night to shoot the illegal D technical was a brilliant move. Unfortunately, it didn't work, but it was still a good move by Coach.
After he made that free throw? You bet he knows who Frye is now, Artest will be seeing that shot in his nightmares for years.
Steve
Yes...just don't ask him to score 20. Ask him to rebound, mix it up in the paint, put a hand up in someone's face, make the guy in front of him work for a good shot etc...
His offense will come if you take the pressure off & gameplan him to do other things.
IMO
You know if Suns' 3pt shooting has been pretty poor in this series so far. Besides Dudley's 5/5, I think Suns hasn't played their game yet.
I have a feeling Game 4, our bench players' 3pt will fall and Lakers will be surprised by how many weapons we have.
Defense is important but defense on a "shooter" is sometimes over-rated. When a shooter is hot and determined, there is little you can do to stop the shots unless you don't even give him a chance to get the ball. Frye is quite tall and unless he's been shooting "fade away" shots all the time to avoid being blocked, he has little excuse to make only 1/20. If the shot is not there, there are so many other things he can do.. like pass out or drive him with a pump fake? He is mentally not ready for this game. Lopez on the other hand has shown that he is ready and he didn't even play the first two series.
The good sign is Suns still won with poor 3pt shooting.
1/20... WOW.
I'm calling my shot... the bench rains 3s supreme, we win Game 4 in a rout. Just a hunch.
Word. I have the same feeling. They're going to leave Channing more because he's sucking eggs right now. Gentry, who is a damn fine coach, will have Frye prepared to go nuts.
When Frye find his shot we have a chance to blow out the Lakers. If he can come out and make his first two 3s then it changes the entire game. Once that happens, Gasol or Bynum has to come out to cover Frye leaving the lane open for Amare and Nash to roam. He is an absolute game changer and there is no way he will continue to shoot like this for the next few games. We have seen what he can do, three games don't change an entire season of work.
i really wonder if it wouldn't be effective to try to get frye off in a manner other than having him jack up 3's. what i mean is, if he feels he's producing he'll gain confidence that will hopefully carry over to his 3 point shot. maybe try to switch the lakers into a mismatch and have him post up and draw a foul, get to the FT line. watch the ball go through the hoop a couple of times. have him successfully pass out of the post for an assist. get him "success" on the court in other areas instead of trying to get him successful in the one area in which his failure is blatantly obvious (not to mention difficult - we're trying to pump confidence back into him by having him undertake one of the most difficult shots on the floor . . . a 3 pointer). just a thought.
the problem is it's not just 3 games. i haven't looked, but i'm willing to bet his shooting percentage and overall performance against the lakers all season is dreadful.
You heard it here first. Frye will nail at least 4 three pointers in Game 4. He has lulled the Lakers into a false sense of security. There will be more focus on Amare and Nash. Frye will be left open, and will be draining them.
Seriously dude... that sounds nice, but when have you ever seen Frye do any of that?? The guy is a friggin marshmellow in the paint/down low. Post up?? My 13 year old son can play with his back to the rim better than Frye can...
Honestly, the guy is simple in a slump, period. He needs to shoot his way out of it. Lets hope that happens at some point in the game tomorrow!!!
it's not a question of whether Frye should play or not.
It's a question of how many minutes should he take from Lopez, if Lopez is working his way toward starter's minutes, now that he's back.
To rephrase what I've said before, Lopez allows Amar'e to be Amar'e.
Frye forces Amar'e to try to be Shaq. And that doesn't work . . . especially in the playoffs.
