He's done. No more roids to make him good.

I'll trade Derek Anderson for him.

It's kind of sad that the steroids ended up ruining his character in the eyes of most people. I've met him a few times, and he's a really good guy.

But honestly, at this point, it's not worth trading much for him. He's got too much to prove at this point. I wouldn't be against picking him up as a free agent though. He won't be the force he once was, but maybe he can give a team solid production.

The way things are going on the open market lately, he'll probably wind up a Seahawk.

It wasn't so much the character(although he handled it poorly claiming he'd sue and then not doing so because he knew he wasn't telling the truth), the reason is he hasn't played well since he got caught. He hasn't been the same player since the drug test, sure the knee injury didn't help either but he wasn't as good after coming back from the suspension.

It wasn't very hard for people to jump to the conclusion that the guy they saw before the positive test was a fraud and the real Merriman just wasn't as good.

I would trade a fifth round pick for him if he agreed to a three year deal coming in.....it takes big men longer to recover from knee injuries....there is a fair chance that next season he will be close to being what he once was.....having something to prove only makes it better.

Anyone who still wants this guy can probably just wait to sign him on the open market. SD has stopped trying to trade him and put him on the Reserved/Injured list. Which usually means they took him off the roster so they can add someone else and still have time to work out a settlement with him. Which means he will probably be straight up released pretty soon.

That is if anyone wants the guy.

If the money makes sense then bring him in. We have a huge hole at OLB, the 4th string position that keeps changing names just about every week.

he has the minor injury designation on him right now for IR .... as soon as "healthy" they must cut him

not sure what the market will be for the guy ... can't imagine much

pure roid player who couldn't duplicate performance after the failed test and had the injuries start to pile up

such a shame, as it was awesome watching him twitch like a dope every time he took a breath on the field and then get all sensitive when someone dared mock him

He's been tested 15 times and failed once, I'd say he should at least get a chance. He's what, 26? It's hard to say he's already done.

no thanks. I enjoy the irony of him bulking up on roids and then when he stopped he got injured left and right because he is not developed correctly muscle wise. *******.

With our LB crew, he at least deserves a look. However, I think he's the type of guy who will want to go to championship caliber team like SF :D.
