Perhaps, it was fitting...we were playing the Browns..Halloween was still fresh in everyone's minds...and the color "orange" was on display everywhere for all to see. We were playing a team that we were supposed to beat...that's what everyone said...Ah, but the NFL is quite fickle..especially where its "favorites" are concerned.

We scored quick...it was easy..maybe TOO easy! The rout was "on"...or was it? These Browns are a feisty bunch and the next thing ya' know we were looking at being down by 2 scores! I'm sure most of us were like...What the!?! How did this happen?

But, then...the window of opportunity cracked be it ever so slightly. A missed extra point. I looked at my wife, who is learning football, and said...That's HUGE! When we put up 3 near the end of the half to draw closer, I thought we had a good shot. We make good 2nd half-adjustments these-days, and 2 scores was NOT nearly out of the question for this explosive team. IF the "zebras" would just keep their "yellow"...NOT orange...hankys in their pockets we'd be alright. This is the Browns after all, NOT the Steelers, who the NFL seems to keep an ever-concerned eye on.

Well, in the 2nd half the "new" color orange was swallowed up in a tidal wave of thrilling RED! As we walked home I was VERY HAPPY! See, really GOOD teams overcome whatever comes their way...mistakes, bad calls...it simply DOESN'T matter! At the end of it all...they've WON!

The Cardinals...long considered the "Charlie Brown's" of the NFL...had achieved something that I believed would only serve to strengthen their spirits and deepen their resolve as the season progressed.

YES! The remaining schedule is NOT easy! Far from it! But, my friends......WE HAVE A GOOD FOOTBALL TEAM!

LET'S ENJOY IT TO THE FULLEST!

Mark :)

A full 2 weeks of BASK-ing now awaits!!

...And then...The Battle in Seattle!
