Two Questions:
1. Why didn't Kerwyn Williams get any carries? I know he's our primary returner, and has a spot on the '53' locked up, but as far as I could see, he only had a KR and a PR. Was it because A) The team wanted to get a look at their other three backs, since they will only keep two of them. B) He was injured on one of the returns, or C)He's being traded and the team didn't want to risk him being hurt. I know C) isn't likely.

2. If Bucannon isn't a go for the regular season opener, is Bynes a better option due to his experience, than Reddick?

Appreciate your feedback.
My feed back is ..I don't know.

Dansby has been like mia in preseason then BucCannon out..so our ilb crew looks weak but I could be something to worry about or not to do ...

Some really key components of our D is the outside pressure which you can't blame BA for protecting his plan. Seeing Scooby playing so early isn't a sign he's a fill in.

I think Reddick is going to be great with Dansby if DCannon isn't a go in week one as projected...lately.

Pretty good...has length, stickiness and a good sense of where the ball is.
He looked pretty solid, but one thing that's hard to gauge is his straight ahead speed.

If he can run with most opposing receivers, he'd give us a Cooper-like presence opposite PP21.

Unreal that he didn't. Branch was excellent. Defensive MVP, imo.
I didn't see what you saw - I thought Branch struggled early in the game. It might be faulty eyes on my part, but it goes to show you: Different eyes = different "facts."

Branch seemed to make every tackle in the first quarter while the rest of the defense hit the snooze button

I just watched the second half again focussing strictly on Pierre (this is my 3rd time watching the game, fyi). The video above was his best play and a good one at that. Good get on that one. The other was what would have been a sack had he not grabbed Trubisky's facemask. Other than that, Pierre did not stand out...and this was versus the Bears' 2nd string offensive line. I like his athleticism, but zero tackles, zero sacks and zero QB hits in the last two games doesn't make me want to anoint him as the team's #2 best defensive lineman. Like I said, if that is the case, we are in trouble. But, we might be anyway. The production up front has been minimal, save for Nkemdiche and 1-2 good plays from Rucker.

No one on the Cards had a sack if I remember right. Bears oline did a great job blocking.

Spot on Mitch. I finally got to watch an entire preseason game.
.........

Gabbert has made it clear he is a far superior player to Stanton. It is up to the coach if he evaluates based on talent or loyalty. Unfortunately after the Amos Jones disaster last year, I think it is not a given Gabbert wins the job.
............

Arians is on record that he would NEVER fire a coach (read the AZ Republic)... he might re-assign him but would NEVER (his emphasis) fire him....

which makes me pretty sure that Stanton is here, no matter what Gabbert does. Add in the whole propaganda effort by Palmer (again just read the Republic for his comments) about how valuable it is to consult Stanton about something during the game (please, Palmer, you are 37-38 and have been a QB forever, if you really need Drew Stanton to help you out then
A. we need to start transition to Gabbert immediately and
B. Stanton needs to be fired (and re-hired right away as QB coach assistant).

Of course, none of the above is real (that it was said is real, it's just not reality). Arians is too stubborn for his own good (gee, have we seen that before ?) and Palmer is just
A. taking the easy way out and saying whatever Arians asks him to or
B. is really that stupid.

If Gabbert gets traded away, you have all your answers and the cardinals will be doomed (not because Gabbert is THAT great, it will be doomed because the powers in charge have lost touch with reality).

Chris Johnson did look slow last night. Quite frankly if that is the way he is going to play I may be in favor of keeping ellington over him - because at least he can make plays in the passing game.

.......

The official stats

http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/20170...meinfo|contentId:0ap3000000832378&tab=analyze

claim 40 yds (for the game) on 19 rushing plays... yup ... another Johnson had 3 rushes for 3 yards, but apparently, the big disappointment here is CJ2K ... say WHAT ? maybe we should not get to down on any RB until we see the line actually perform like an O-line...

Mitch, I've changed my mind. I had said that I thought that we should only keep two QB's, and that BG should be the #2. I still feel that Blaine is our second best, but with all the injuries around the League, it now makes sense to keep three. In the worst case scenario, I'd rather have BG as our starter and DS as the backup. Consider, if we only had two (Stanton if cut would probably picked up), we might have to sign a 'Ryan Lindley'.

I found it interesting and informative that Stanton provides notes to Carson on what he sees in reviewing game film of upcoming opponents. It makes sense to me that the more info you have the better you can play. Not an indictment of Carson's intelligence (quite the contrary IMO) but why he is a pro's pro and has played for so many years.

Stanton has been to erratic far too often so I understand why some don't like him but we have also witnessed him help win regular season games and he had a fantastic game against the Raiders. IMO Stanton needs a ton of reps in practice and a game plan to be effective which is why he will never be more than a quality backup QB.

I don't need to read stat sheets to see if a player looks to have lost a step or two. I like CJ2 and think he can still contribute but

And, of course, there's another possibility. You are in fact the one who has lost touch with reality.
