Report: Manning signing could send Tebow to Jaguars

If Peyton Manning ends up in Denver, Tebowmania reportedly could find a new home base in Jacksonville.

With an ESPN report indicating the Denver Broncos are Manning's preferred choice, another report has surfaced that current Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow would then be traded.

Citing a "source close to the team," profootballtalk.com reported the Broncos could trade Tebow and indicated the Jacksonville Jaguars were working to land him.

Tebow became a national sensation last year as his late-game theatrics, often built on his running ability, led the Broncos to the AFC West title and a playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tebow was 7-4 as a starter and rushed for 660 yards and six touchdowns. But he completed just 46.5 percent of his passes, and threw for 1,729 yards with 12 touchdowns and six interceptions.

The University of Florida alum could be a drawing card, though, for Jacksonville, which watched rookie Blaine Gabbert and Luke McCown struggle at quarterback last year.

The Jaguars released David Garrard before the season-opener and Gabbert started 14 games for the 5-11 Jaguars, throwing for 2,214 yards, 12 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He posted just a 65.4 passer rating.

McCown went 1-1 in his two starts, but had a 39.0 rating after throwing for 296 yards and four interceptions without a touchdown in four games.

Tebow did not comment on his situation with the Broncos during his appearance at a fund raiser for the Wounded Warrior project in Tampa, Fla., on Saturday.

So, the sports media is now confident enough that they aren't just guessing at one event in the future, but also how resulting events will play out.

source says if denver signs PM then tebow "could" be traded..........well no ****...of course he could........ but denver is not getting Manning.....

Reggie Wayne could have been the #1 in denver...but Manning aint going there..so Wayne went back to Indy because he does not want to be #2 to #11

Trying not to get too wrapped up in anything the mass media is saying, like Chicago has any idea what the hell PM is thinking.

Exactly who is Manning going to throw to in Denver now? His boys are gone, Vjax is gone, Meacham appears gone, Colston is gone, Eddie Royal is going to Washington.

But whatever, let the idiots keep babbling their theories. I am sure there are a few of them that still believe Nnamdi is still going to be a Jet.

So basically this writer has shown the ability to copy and paste from other stories that are already 2-3 days old and make it look brand new.

Tennessee has a real shot...Their owner said he would write a blank check. I know Peyton doesn't care about money...but he is a legend here.(I live in Knoxville area) The thing is...I doubt he wants to play the Colts twice or the Texans with no wr's...Tennessee is putting all their eggs in getting Manning...that they are not improving their team...The WR's are terrible.

Are you referring to the writer from the Tribune or me? I pasted the story verbatim and you can check for yourself with the link I pasted above. And I don't know where you get the "2-3" days ago stuff as it was in today's Tribune. Watch who you're calling a liar....

Someone needs a nap from 48 hours of Manning Watch. Unless you work for the tribune not sure why you think I was talking about you.

This story is less about Peyton and more about Tebow.

It even begins "If Peyton Manning ends up in Denver," and then really just repeats an ESPN report. So, it's more about Denver losing their cult QB than anything else.

Still, this is shaving years off of my life. I really need to know one way or another.

Like I said in another thread, if it's between DEN and AZ, we should be far and away the no-brainer, but if you add in teams like TEN or HOU, then it's a thinking man's game. Even MIA poses a bigger challenge than DEN. I just don't get DEN....

I feel for Gabbert. Has to be the most disrespected rookie QB of all time. Most rookie QBs do struggle, especially with the talent Jacksonville had around him

We don't call posters "writers." Even if they write for a living.

Don't let ManningWatch get too deep in your brain...it turns a man's mind to rot...

It's becoming laughable now.

I'm going to put it this way: As of last week and part of the weekend Miami was the clear favorite. Then Denver was the favorite with Az in second. Tenn was briefly a favorite. Houston has been a favorite (even though they said they have no interest). The 49ers were briefly mentioned. Seattle was mentioned.

You know the team which has been consistently "in it" during all this speculation? The one team every writer and pundit and ******* has mentioned throughout? Our Arizona Cardinals.

They just can't bring themselves to say it: He's coming to Arizona.

Exactly who is Manning going to throw to in Denver now?

Elway's going to come down from his box and be a WR on an "as needed" basis.

I know this for a FACT.

I heard it from my cousin who knows the guy who paints the lines at Mile High Stadium who lives next door to someone who uses Twitter and saw Tebow at church once.

I hear manning is really into the history of NFL football....which keeps me thinking there is a possibility that Denver has never been an option...but out of respect for one of the living legends of the game...John Elway...you visit, talk, entertain offers........

But in the end...being so in to history and NFL legends..... Peyton has to know that Manning to Fitzgerald is a legendary combo waiting to happen.
