The decision on which player the Kansas City Chiefs will pick at No. 1 has been made, with general manager John Dorsey telling ESPN that he and coach Andy Reid are in 100 percent agreement.

That assumes they don't trade the pick as three or four teams inquired about the selection Wednesday, and Dorsey told ESPN the plan is for the Chiefs to keep their decision secret -- even after they're on the clock -- to give other teams one more opportunity to offer a trade for the No. 1 overall pick.

What I am reading is that they leaked this to hope someone will offer anything for the 1st pick. This smells of desperation and I hope Andy Reid is stuck with the first pick.

Somehow, I don't think we're in a position to mock Andy Reid's trade skills after we fell for the whole Kolb fiasco.

Go Cards!!!

No one is mocking him and my statement is based on us getting owned in that trade.

Boo-freaking-hoo. You get your choice of 3 perennial LTs (potentially). I feel so sorry for you Andy.

Makes for good TV though.

uh, to be fair if I had finally gotten the #1 pick, and it happen to be this year, I'd be a TAD dissapointed.

Yup! I'd rather have the #3 pick. Oakland is actually going to get something for that pick IMO. At least a 4th and maybe a 2nd or 3rd.

Andy can kiss my rear

No one is wanting the 1st pick and the $ that comes with it. Look at how Jake Long changed the fortunes of Miami.....NOT!

They want out and they can't....don't tell me it's great when it's not.

Looking at the history of LT's being the 1st pick....I'd pass and take Star or give Smith another WR to work with. They already have big Al at LT.

I bet they don't even take a LT.

I get all of that expect for the money. You do know there is a new CBA that paid Luck 22 million for four years. Jake Long signed for 5-year, $57.75 million when he was a rookie. Money is no longer an issue.

agreed, but how much did Long do to help change the team/culture in Miami.

A top LT doesn't alter the team a ton.

Fisher and Luke are good, but I think they'll take Star at the top. A top D lineman is what they need.

They've got Fat Al and he's solid at LT....why trade one for another...that doesn't help the team other than clearing cap space which they are fine on.

The top pick will be Star L or Tevon A. Get weapons

Reports out now that Joeckel has been informed that Fisher is the #1 pick.

To me that means the Chiefs have also finalized a trade to send Branden Albert somewhere else (likely Miami).

So I'm the kid they wind up picking with the pick, how exactly am I going to feel knowing for a fact they intentionally didn't leak my name because they were hoping to trade out so they wouldn't have to pay me like a top overall pick?

Trade the #7 to St. Louis and get #16 and #22. Then trade #38 to KC for Albert. Then with the two first rounders you go S and OLB or even TE.

I keep hearing there are only like 12-15 legitimate first round talents in this draft. We are in a position to get one of those guys. Would we really want to trade just out of that range, even for more picks?

I'm just asking, I really don't have an opinion either way on this scenario. But I do think Albert is already going to Miami. If KC takes Fisher at #1, that deal will already have been sealed, I think.

If you can get three starters with your first three picks, then yes, I want to do it. I think one of the G's will slip a little bit and you can take one of them and the best pass rusher left at 22 and then Elam the S at 38.

Nah, if your doing it based on needs for your team. I say take the predicted elite talent in the top ten and get a stud. The draft is a gamble and the farther back you go, no matter how slight, the more the risk goes up that the guy might not pan out. I say stay :)
