Of course this is assuming they make it through the next couple of practices healthy.

LOL. It's going to be awesome when Uncle Bruce gives CJ2.3 22 carries against the Broncos and then releases him the next day.

I expect Fairweatherspoon to be injured on the 3rd play and out for another month or two.

I dunno. I think that Weatherspoon made a business decision that there was zero chance he wasn't going to walk in to a starting job no matter how long he sat out — and he was absolutely right. Kevin Minter is going back to a dozen snaps a game as soon as Weatherspoon puts on shoulder pads.

I'd be worried about Weatherspoon wanting to milk one last season's worth of paychecks like John Abraham did if this wasn't Weatherspoon's second contract. He can get $20M guaranteed with a healthy and productive 2015. He just didn't really feel like practicing when there was no one who was going to compete with him.

IMO.

Arians run the ball 22 times? You are hilarious. :p

Isn't the idea to have Weatherspoon and Minter together in base defense, and then have Deone go back to Safety, unless it's a Nickel situation?

Teams play like 60% of the downs in the nickel. Weatherspoon isn't coming off the field if he's healthy.

We'll see when the games start, but I think your best 11 on defense is with Bucannon on the field with Mathieu and Jefferson playing safety.

I anticipate that Rashard Johnson is going to be the guy wearing the green dot on his helmet — he might have to be on the field every play, more or less.

On a strictly technical level, when the Cards have 4 LBs on the field, I suppose Minter would be one of those, but the Cards had 5 or more DBs on the field 68% of the time last year.

It seems so far that jefferson has uprooted Rashad Johnson as a starting safety.

No... that was me being careless with our many solid safeties. I fixed my post.
I've been hearing a ton about Jefferson and little about Johnson. I haven't gotten to pay the amount of attention I wanted to to preseason when it has been on, who had played better?

I really wish the NFL would zoom out a little bit so we can see more than line play before the qb throws the ball.

Jefferson is probably the bigger story that Johnson. Johnson is the "brains" of the operation — taking over for Larry Foote. Him and Weatherspoon are the most cerebral starters on the defense and the most likely to call the plays.
