i think our best bet with NO is to feed on the picking left by Paul's departure.

West could be had fairly cheaply because he's bailing as soon as he can.

Great article about how Lebron James and his antics this summer seem to be influencing Paul to do something stupid.

Great article. LBJ is a douche. I kept dismissing that the James' decision had anything to do with Paul's antics because players have forced their way out of cities well before LBJ was even a thought...but seeing him posting on Twitter encouraging Paul to "do what's best for his family" is a joke.

What's best for Paul, like the article says, is to distance himself from LBJ and his ilk and play ball in a city that respects him and his family. It's not about money - Paul is getting paid.

Anothony Randolph and Gallinari are as good or better prospects as Dragic plus they both play different positions than the Hornets top prospects. Of course any Paul trade will likely include Okafor and the Knicks and Blazers can both offer immediate savings(with either cap space or Pryzbilla's partially guaranteed contract).

The teams that make no sense are Lakers, Magic and to a lesser extent Mavs. I bet Cuban is regretting trading Dampier right about now.

i had forgotten that they acquired randolph. not certain gallinari is still considered as good a prospect as dragic, but that may be homerific myopia.

I can't stand what James did... and now with Paul, it's sickening...
However, this is nothing more than a continuation of the "me-first", "it's all about me" mentality that has been developing in all major pro sports for years now, particularly in the NBA.
The players are now, more than ever, flexing their muscles in a variety of ways, and putting it out there for all to see, that THEY are the ones in control, and nobody else. Not the coaches, the GM's, the owners or the league.

You can hear and see how this rubs veterans the wrong way... Jordan, Magic, Barkley and others have all, carefully of course, expressed their dissatisfaction with what is happening...
Guys like LBJ, Wade, Bosh, Paul... and we'll see about Mello and others next year, have cemented their place in NBA history and will never, no matter what they do and how many titles they might win, will never reach the Magic, Jordan, Byrd, Kobe levels...

I'd take Dragic, and I'm sure any other Suns fan would. Just as I'm sure any Knicks fans would take Gallinari but I don't think any objective fan would think there is a great deal of talent separating the 2.

Good grief, you must be joking. I like Dragic, but Gallinari is miles ahead. He was a legitimate starter last season and averaged 15 ppg on 38% three-point shooting, as a 6' 10" SF. He's also more than two years younger than Dragic, which means that he can mature for two more full seasons and still be younger than Dragic is now.

Any "objective fan" would put Gallinari and Dragic in completely different categories.

I could see the argument for liking Gallinari over Dragic but I still think their values are similar. I don't really agree with using the starting/bench roles since Gallinari wasn't competing for playing time against the same caliber of players. Their per 36min stats are very comparable.
