I felt they were writing themselves OUT of a corner. Can't have Chuck hiding in a corner forever if they want the series to continue.

Agreed but they can't go the other extreme either and have a "know it all".

A bit of both, really. They're going to have to take Chuck's dad back underground. A new villain is always good. But they're going to have to figure out what the rules and drawbacks to the intersect 2.0 are.

What made this show great (IMO) is that Chuck is comedic relief in a ongoing spy show - if he becomes a know it all, it may quickly turn into a lame 24.

I can think of no shortage of plot lines in its current form, starting with an intersect virus. The love story is going to be immediately strained because Chuck is going to stop being the person Sarah fell in love with, and Chuck will have all kinds of identity issues. He's the ultimate unwilling hero, but the temptation for a geek to go back and right all the wrongs carried out against him could be overwhelming.

My worr is this....once you download something it becomes perm. Once perm, you don't need to learn it ever again. Sooner or later you wouldn't need Sarah or anybody else if you can do it all yourself. I don't want to see that.

Agreed. I would like to see the info only become temporary.

Well, they've already removed the intersect once...

Also, I just love all of the movie references in this show. The season finale had Back to the Future and The Matrix references. There's usually a Spies Like Us reference somewhere.

Love this show, and will be mega-pissed if NBC cancels.

But they've already removed it. Chuck was intersect-free for about a day. I think it would be more interesting if Chuck didn't WANT it removed now, but it ends up turning everyone against him and putting his family in even more harm's way.

What I meant was the data (information) that Chuck accesses every single time. It appears for instance that Chuck now knows Kung Fu. So for instance, I don't want the information accessed to be permanent. I don't want it to be permanent knowledge so that his skills become infinite.

I mean Chuck would become this mega spy that improves each time the intersect kicks in. That would ruin the show for me. What I want is that even when he accesses say a skill he needs, the information is only temporary. That is what I mean about it being permanent.

Part of the charm of the show for me is that Chuck is so much the average guy put into situations much bigger then him. You take that away and you ruin the show IMO.

If I'm tracking your idea, I like it. What you're saying is that Chuck knows kung fu in a moment of crisis, but wouldn't after that moment has passed, and that exact flash may not come again?

It certainly would be easier to work with than an ever-improving super-Chuck.

Ugh. The death knell.

Everybody remember Jericho? They did the same thing there.

If they are smart about the budget then it can do OK. I was glad to hear the news when I had read it on Friday.

Besides, the 13 episodes can easily be expanded to 18 or whatever. Networks do that type of thing all the time.

The rumor is they might have to let one regular cast member go. They could survive on a smaller budget if they play their cards right.

Go Chuck!!!

Argh, but who should they let go? I can't think of one regular I'd be all right with them not being on the show.

The General'd be an easy cut, Morgan's already gone, some of the other Buy More employees. Darkhorse in Adam Baldwin.

Yeah, the General would be easy, but I'm thinking they need to cut actual money, and her replacement would probably cost about the same. Morgan could always come back, and man would it be a lot less fun without him. I would also be a lot less fun without Casey. Wouldn't kill the show in either case, but they'd have to find real whizz-bang replacements.

I remember it and don't think it affected the show too much at all.

It just seemed that with Jericho, they renewed it for another 8 shows (IIRC) since the fans were protesting, then it got hurt by the writer's strike, and they canceled it several weeks before the last episode was shot.

I wouldn't surprised if Chuck's next season was a quick shoot followed by cancellation, is all.

They can't cut Baldwin. He's the real star of the show. It doesn't work without him. Then it'd just be a Ross/Rachel thing going on, and every show jumps the shark with a Ross/Rachel thing as the centerpiece storyline.

I don't think it would be a major cast member. So, it would probably be a Buy More character. Agreed that Baldwin would be a huge mistake. You can't do it without the primary 3 characters (Chuck, Sarah and KC).

Maybe Awesome and the sister, but that would disappoint, because the sister is a five-star piece of eye candy. I like her way better than Sarah.

Bite your tongue!

Awesome is probably my favorite character on the show. I don't see how it works unless they just sacrifice a few of the buy more characters.

Finally caught up on this show. Only took me 4 months :) Great entertainment and I really like the folk/indie soundtrack.

Add Angie Harmon to that guest list along with Brandon Roth. They are stocking up on guest stars this season.

Also, sounds like Awesome isn't going anywhere.
