Clayton on ESPN just said that Dennis Green wants the Arizona job.

That answers one question.

But here's the big question.

Do we want Dennis Green?

One thing that I don't understand about Cardinals management is this: When a player or coach wants to be here, they (management) don't even give them the time of day.

*See Marcus Robinson from last year

yes - but if not then defintely Fassel. How many times did Green make it the playoffs with how many different QBs? The guy's a great football mind - yes he has some baggage - but he's also been incredibly humbled due to the lack of interest in him the last couple years and I think he's out for redemption.

If they get Green - the sting from this weekend's loss will abate for me immediately. Fassel would abate the sting as well.

I heard that Fassell wants to get back to the west coast and that he has family in Az. I hope we get Fassel..But I guess I would be happy with Green...

Dennis Green has a better record than Fassel and might be a slight better hire. I think Graves is very interested in Green and wants to see how the Bidwill family feels about him as their coach. I really think this coaching hire is a two-man race between Fassel and Green. Competition for Fassel will come from Buffalo and Washington. Green will probably also be a candidate with Snyder's Redskins. It will be interesting to hear about how Green and Fassel's interviews go Wednesday and Saturday.

M.J. said today on KDUS that Green has had problems with harrassment issues (IE can't keep his mitts off the secretary and women in the community), and with loosing his clubhouses.

I was leaning towards Green due to his proven win-loss records and ability to hire good assistants. However, now I'm not too sure. I think I lean more towards Fassel. I'm not sure this team needs all of Green's baggage.

I want a coach who has proven experience, and not a coordinator that MIGHT make a good coach. I also think it is a two man race, IMO.

I also want a coach who can develope young players.

Even more important IMO, is the assistant coaches. I think the assistant coaches will be more important than their figure-head boss anyhow. I want coordinators who will exploit the opponents' weaknesses, and will utilize the best personel, to their best abilities. I also want position coaches who will teach and DEVELOPE the players they have, so that they actually IMPROVE from year to year (IE, the anti- Joe Greene). Therefore, I hope the Bidwill Brain-trust forks over the cash necessary to hire the top notch coordinators and assistant coaches.

Oh, did I mention I want coaches who will develope and improve our players! :)

I think the Cardinals will grill Green on his part on the past situations that have created controversy to see if he has changed his ways. They won't make him an offer until he satisfies them that he has outgrown his major shortcomings.

"... outgrown his major shortcomings." I like that.

I still can't believe it - I actually can not come to grips with the win this weekend - literally - my brain will not allow me to say "won" or "win" - it's really weird - call me bad fan or not - I guess I just had my hopes pinned so high on getting the possible QB of the future - that I still can't see what happened on Sunday as anything but - it's a major mental malfunction.

But okay - for semantic - Green or Fassel will abate the pain from the WIN this weekend.

Either of these guys will bring us sorely needed credibility. I originally wanted Fassel but Green is becoming more interesting the more I hear about him. My main concern wouold be discipline. Cards have done well to get rid of players with questionable characters - has Denny found redemption?

I can't believe we have two proven quality NFL head coaches wanting to coach our Cards. Things just may be turning around out here.

I know King - I just can't believe that mentally my brain just won't allow me to say it was a win - it's ridiculous. How the hell were you THAT drunk? Two days is a vicious hangover.

Well Monday I was toast. I couldn't get off the couch all I did was puke and drink water. . Today I took off cause 2 days in a row only counts as one occurence at my work. Plus I have been sick so the 30 beers or so I drank on Sunday hurt.

I actually feel pretty good tonight. Ready to go back to work.

I will be more than pissed if we don't get one or the other! I think that Green brings to the table a coach who has proven revord getting coaches promoted. That tells me he is a good leader and trainer. The more you can promote the better the program. On the other hand he did or did not have some written problems that never went to a court room. I would want more info.

Fassel has been a head coach for 7 years. We all know the man knows offense. He has proven that everywhere he has gone. That being said what has happened over the last couple of years in New York bother me. Why did his team seam to quite on him. Yes they had their share of injuries and we all know how that goes, but, he had a lot of talant and with him calling the offense no one to blame but him, self as head coach and offensive cordinator.

Now with all that I would be extatic with Green first and Fassel second. But not walking away empty on both!

That's what i was thinking. At least we're not sitting here talking about the coaching merits of Ted Cottrell vs. Dan Henning as our new coach. It seems to me like there wil be a bidding war for Fassel and that we'll get Green. That is fine with me even though i'd still like them to bring in Coughlin.

Do WE want Green?

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!

Are you kidding me? Are we even having this discussion? Do you remember what we have here? A team looking for the answer. Green is the answer. I emailed him every week this season on ESPN to come here. He will bring creds to a team I don't think EVER had any. To get any coach of that caliber here. I say bring it on!!! Get real people WE need that type of coach. Past is past. Do the Cards want him? Are you crazy?!?!
