The more I see and hear from this guy the more I like him. He brings a wealth of experience, including 10 years of head coaching experience for national teams during the summer. He's 46 years old. He has 17 years as an assistant coach in the NBA. He has 10 years (short seasons) of international head coaching experience. You have to work A LOT to compile that kind of resume at that young of an age.

He is certainly not inexperienced by any measure.

Anyone else see this? Says a lot to me about TJ. He is engaged on what is going with this team.

He is probably saying, I don't want to come off the bench coach. ;)

I'm curious how TJ fits into the Suns plans going forward. Fans use him in most trade scenarios and he and Daniels are probably the only guys with value who aren't named Booker or Jackson. Their skills and contracts make them valuable but Daniels wouldn't fetch much in return. I don't want to see him traded but I'd understand if he was.

I've wondered what TJ thought about Payton after the initial acquisition of him wore off and Elfrid got settled in. A lot was made of TJ and Payton being good friends when Payton arrived and they both spoke about that for the first 2 weeks or so Payton was on the team but once Payton's play fell off that was the end of that story. You didn't see them joking on the bench or mention of their friendship anymore. Could be nothing, could be something, not sure, just thought it was odd that it was a top story of sorts to never mentioned again.

Was going to start a new thread for this but decided just to add it in here because it goes with the press conference and interviews he's done today, IMO.

Article posted on AZ Central by Scott Bordow about the first 5 or top 5 things Coach Igor Kokoskov needs to do with the Suns this offseason, titled "5 Items On Coach Kokoskov To Do List". There is more info on each item in the article, which I'll link below, but the 5 items are...

- Establish a positive working relationship with Devin Booker

- Convince T.J. Warren to accept 6th-man role

- Unlock consistent play from Marquese Chriss and/or Dragan Bender

- Install some semblance of a defensive mindset

- Turn Josh Jackson into defensive stopper

That's a solid starting point and until we know where we draft and who we'll draft these are things that coach can start doing right now, meeting with players and giving them an idea of what he wants from them this summer so they show up prepared for workouts later. They all make sense, and I think they're in the right order also. We'll see what happens.
