Colts, Chuck Pagano agree to new contract

Chuck Pagano will return to the Colts and has agreed to a new contract, the team announced this evening.
That news comes as a total shock. It has been widely believed for months that Pagano would be gone at the end of the season even if the Colts made the playoffs. When the Colts fell short of the postseason, Pagano’s exit seemed to be a mere formality.

Just saw that too. Four years is surprising based on the chatter that's been going on.

Sounds like Pagano had some nudes of someone or knows where the bodies are and waited until they were going to let him go to inform them.

or Saban turned them down after Sean Payton turned them down.

Why do you think that Saban would want to come back to the NFL, or that the NFL would have him? He makes more money than God at 'Bama, people probably leave their infant sons in the woods for him to take, and he has an iron fist on that program.

NFL players in Miami had zero respect for Nick Saban. I'm not sure why the NFL would want him.

Deadspin shares a report that Pagano got extended when talks broke down with Sean Payton: http://deadspin.com/what-are-the-colts-doing-1751092649

This amazes me too. The 2 wins against Seattle and the 1 against us may have saved his job

Maybe they figured firing Fisher would affect their move to L A Bid, since Jeff is a USC alum. :D

According to NFL Network, he had a lot of support from players who wanted him to stay.

BA set a high bar , took over a team that lost 11 of its last 12 --- three seasons of double digit wins while wading through an ocean of injuries . SK hit the Motherload when he hired BA .

The rumor is that Dirk Koetter, ex ASU head coach and current Tampa Bay OC, will be the new Tampa Bay coach and that Lovie was fired to keep Dirk around. Reportedly the Dolphins, Niners and Eagles were interested in Koetter and Tampa Bay didn't want to give Winston a new offense after a year so Lovie got the axe.

Supposedly it is a fact, Dolphins hired Adam Gase. Part that amused me was that Ndamakong (sp) Suh was consulted and part of the interview process. WTH?

I'm sure he just wanted to see how he'd be used on offense...;) Like JJ Watt.

San Francisco choosing between Mike Shanahan and Chip Kelly, according to a Schefter tweet. Should know by EoD tomorrow.

LOL. Hope they choose Shanahan. He clearly thrives in a chaotic front office environment.

Tom Coughlin is withdrawing his name from consideration for Eagles HC job, per sources. Not the right fit.

Good move for Eagles.
