I've been incredibly fortunate to be given access to the coach's film on NFL Rewind. I wanted to take a couple of opportunities a week to let you know what I see from important moments in the game. I don't know how to post screen grabs directly onto the thread, but I'll describe what I see.
This week, I thought I'd start with Kolb's game-winning drive against Seattle:
1-10-ARI 32 (8:18) 4-K.Kolb pass incomplete deep right to 11-L.Fitzgerald.
Four man rush on three vertical routes against three-deep coverage.
Not great ball placement, but there was likely a bunch of nerves going on there.
2-10-ARI 32 (8:13) (Shotgun) 4-K.Kolb pass short left to 11-L.Fitzgerald to ARI 46 for 14 yards (50-K.Wright).
Four-man rush with four receivers out in patterns from shotgun formation.
Soft zone defensive coverage.
Fitz sits down in a hole in the zone.
1-10-ARI 46 (7:40) 4-K.Kolb pass incomplete short right to 12-A.Roberts (90-J.Jones).
11 formation with TE lined up on the right side.
Four-man rush with RB kept in to block.
Heap's wide open coming out of his break. REALLY soft zone coverage.
Adam Snyder got abused in pass pro and the pass gets batted down at the line.
Might be a good thing because Kolb was targeting a covered player (Andre Roberts, I think) on a 12-yard comeback.
Could've been a pick, but Batiste did a good job holding up against his man.
2-10-ARI 46 (7:36) 4-K.Kolb pass short right to 11-L.Fitzgerald to SEA 31 for 23 yards (50-K.Wright).
11 alignment with Todd Heap on a short split and LSH in the backfield.
Six-man rush with a delayed SS blitz.
Kolb makes a good throw to Fitz on a skinny post. High ball between the corner and the safety.
Snyder manages to block no one--either the stunting defensive lineman or the blitzing linebacker.
LSH makes the pass possible by just barely impeding the linebacker's progress to Kolb. Kolb isn't touched.
1-10-SEA 31 (6:56) 4-K.Kolb pass incomplete deep right to 12-A.Roberts. PENALTY on ARI-71-D.Colledge, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at SEA 31 - No Play.
11 personnel with Roberts split out alone on the strong side of the formation.
Four man rush with man coverage underneath.
Heap gets open out of his break.
Colledge gets called for holding helping out Batiste and Kolb still ends the play on his back.
Kolb lofts the ball out to Andre Roberts, who has inside leverage on the cornerback pressing him at the line.
1-20-SEA 41 (6:50) (Shotgun) 4-K.Kolb pass incomplete short right to 12-A.Roberts (25-R.Sherman). PENALTY on SEA-25-R.Sherman, Defensive Pass Interference, 9 yards, enforced at SEA 41 - No Play.
11 personnel with Todd Heap on a narrow split with Andre Roberts.
Fitz runs a short in, Doucet and Heap run vertical routes.
Cover-one with a deep, deep free safety and man underneath.
Four man rush and Batiste has no chance at all.
LDE is playing out very wide, and Daryn Colledge decides not to block anyone.
Tight coverage on Roberts earns a (make-up?) pass interference penalty. If the corner's turned around, that's probably a pick-six.
1-10-SEA 32 (6:45) 4-K.Kolb pass short left to 86-T.Heap to SEA 21 for 11 yards (91-C.Clemons, 23-M.Trufant).
11 personnel with Heap on a narrow spit on the slot side of the formation.
Defense has 6 men on the line and one safety deep in the middle of the field.
One corner is showing press on Larry split right, the rest of the secondary is showing off-man.
Five man rush with a linebacker bailing to cover Heap; everyone's in man coverage.
Heap gets outside leverage and Kolb delivers a perfect ball. LSH does a great job picking up a blitzing linebacker.
1-10-SEA 21 (6:18) 36-L.Stephens-Howling up the middle to SEA 18 for 3 yards (56-L.Hill).
11 personnel with Fitz and the slot WR on the right, Heap and the split end on the left.
Both outside corners are in press technique, one safety is very high, nickle corner playing off-man.
Looks like a counter play, not a zone run. Nice little hole, but Sendlein collapses in the run block and his man trips up LSH.
2-7-SEA 18 (5:48) 4-K.Kolb pass short left to 86-T.Heap to SEA 10 for 8 yards (31-K.Chancellor).
Offense lines up in that spread look with Heap in the left slot between two WRs and LSH in the slot on the right with Larry split wide.
Defense showing two-deep with off-man.
Four man rush.
Heap trails the interior WR (Doucet) into an open area.
Defensive secondary playing real soft.
Batiste deserves to be singled out for doing a great job riding his man well out of the play.
1-10-SEA 10 (5:05) (Shotgun) 4-K.Kolb pass short right to 36-L.Stephens-Howling ran ob at SEA 6 for 4 yards (25-R.Sherman).
11 personnel with Doucet and Fitz bunched close to Batiste, Heap with a narrow split on Massie's side, and Roberts out wide.
Defense shows Cover-2 with all the under players showing off-man. Roberts motions toward the formation.
Four man rush and the under defenders all retreat to the goal line.
Plenty of room underneath for LSH to grab an open ball.
Pretty much everyone on the line holds up, although the left side collapses a little.
2-6-SEA 6 (4:59) 4-K.Kolb pass short left to 12-A.Roberts for 6 yards, TOUCHDOWN.
11 personnel with Kolb in the shotgun (don't know why the play charter doesn't record this).
Receivers left to right are Roberts, Heap, Fitz, and Doucet on the far right side.
Defense shows cover-2 with a press on Doucet and off-man on the left side. Everyone's aligned in man coverage. Defenders pointing to one another trying to figure out what to do with Fitz.
Five man rush with an inside stunt.
Roberts runs a great route where he turns inside to shake the corner and get outside leverage.
Good ball placement where only Roberts can get it or it goes out of bounds.
This offensive line just has a hard time managing inside stunts, as Adam Snyder pretty much fails to touch anyone.

My final review of the series is that the Seahawks apparently didn't prepare a game plan for Kevin Kolb, and that Kevin made good choices in delivering the ball, but didn't have to make many really difficult throws. Also, apparently Ryan Williams needs to figure out how to hold on to the ball or learn his playbook better or adjust to pass pro, because there's no reason that LSH should be on the field that entire series.
This take a hella long time to review, so if you have a particular defensive or offensive play that you'd like to see broken out, I'd be happy to take a look for you, but please be more specific than "That one play where Rob Housler was in the game." I don't have that information.
P.S. -- Much love to Steve for making this all possible.
