Sucks! :(

Just throwing names out there:

Marcus Washington
Donnie Edwards
Boss Bailey

No clue on how either of these three would fit the system tho.

Put Wilson up there occassionally. Plug in another safety.

Even with this injury, I still think the ILB depth is far more concerning then OLB. If we had a choice between an ILB and a OLB I would take the ILB.

And someone actually brought up a good name to look at. Marcus Washington would be a very decent ILB depth guy.

Somebody will sign Washington after game 1. I had no idea he was available. 2005 was a pretty good year with Washington. Anyone know why he only started 11 games last year? Injury?

I just noticed on this picture that it appears that Brown is wearing wrist braces for last years mini camp. I wonder if he has had wrist issues before prior to his injury. Because this doesn't seem like standard equipment to me for a non contact mini camp?

Shane I don't recall him having wrist problems or injury problems during his stint at UConn. Everytime I saw him play, he did well.

You may be right. That just seems like odd mini camp attire. Especially after remembering what his injury was. Thanks.

I actually remember he was one of the first UConn players here when UConn when to Div IA and I believe was a starter since his sophmore year. He was named to the First Team All Big east his Senior year.

Randy Edsall really has transformed the UConn football program into something special. He is doing to UConn football what Jim Calhoun did to the mens basketball team. Every year the team gets better and recruits good talent. I have no doubts UConn will churn out more NFL talent and the the players will perform well.

This is why I have no doubt about Brown. He comes from a great program, and had excellent coaching at UConn. It's just crap luck he got injured, but hopefully rebounds this year. I'm looking forward to watching him play again.

On a side note I remember starting a thread in here a couple of years ago about another UConn linebacker, Scott Lutrus. He is a great player and has great speed and always gets a boatload of tackles. He is heading into his senior year this year. He had an off year last year but has the abilty to play weakside OLB and ILB.

Kudos to UConn, but UConn & Rutgers benefited tremendously when the Syracuse football program tanked. Syracuse made a great hire last year & their program is taking off now. How that affects UConn & Rutgers remains to be seen. The Cuse will be a top 10 team inside of 3 years.

I don't think it will have that much of an impact. The Big East is really starting to take off as a football conference as well. Between Cincinnati, West Virginia, Pittsburgh, UConn, Rutgers and now Syracuse I think the Big East will become even more competitive.
