It's freakin hilarious to see the media and fans call for a suspension of Raja Bell in this situation, in this series, and in the playoffs this year. There have been numerous instances of inconsitantly called flagrant fouls, then very inconsistant league action on things that happen on the court.
A few examples:
Ron Artest --> Takes an intentional elbow to the mouth from Ginobili without a call at all, then retaliates in the 3rd quarter and gets toosed from the game and suspended for the next game. (WARRANTED)
Udonis Haslim --> Gets called for a personal foul under the basket, and in frustration takes his mouth piece out and throws it in the direction of the official. He gets tossed from the game and subsequently gets a one game suspension. (BIG TIME OVER-REACTION FROM THE LEAGUE)
James Posey --> Tosses Kirk Hinrich to the floor in the 4th quarter and gets ejected from the game. Then comes the one game suspension. (A BIT OF OVER-REACTION FROM THE LEAGUE)
There were a few examples of league mandated one game suspensions handed out so far in the playoffs. Now lets go to the Suns Vs Lakers playoff series all in itself.
Kobe Bryant --> Game 2, twice, once in the second, once in the third quarter, throws elbows at Raja Bell head, with no calls from the officials, and no league office action.
Kobe Bryant --> Also game 2, small scuffle between teams, jumps in and shoves Steve Nash and gets in his face yelling. Yet again, no action from the game officials or from the league offices.
Luke Walton --> Game 3, grabs Tim Thomas, ABOVE THE SHOULDERS, and throws him down (luckily no injury to Thomas). Officials call a Flagrant Fouls, he stays in the game. League Offices upgrade the flagrant to a 2. NO SUSPENSION!!!!
Kobe Bryant --> Game 3, following the Luke Walton fiasco, yet again jumps in and shoves Nash and yells in hi s face. No action from the Officials or the League Officials.
Kwame Brown --> Game 3, throws an elbow to the chest of Boris Diaw, knocking Boris on his back, then making things worse, stradling over Boris and yelling profanities at him. Officials call a TECHNICAL FOUL. Again NO ACTION FROM THE LEAGUE OFFICES!!!!!
Kobe Bryant --> Game 3, following the Kwame and Boris actions, Nash runs over to get Boris up off the floor, Kobe jumps in and shoves Nash yet again, yelling at him. Officials push Kobe more than 10 feet away from Nash, yet Kobe gets away from the official and runs back in to Nash's face. NO ACTION FROM OFFICIALS OR LEAGUE OFFICES!!!!!
Kobe Bryant --> Game 5, twice threw elbow at Raja Bells head, connecting once with no action from the officials.
Raja Bell --> Game 5, grabs Kobe around the shoulders and leads him to the floor. Officials assest a Flagrant Foul.
Ok now, we aren't going to go into all the no-calls, incorrect calls, and completely missed calls that have gone on in this series. Just with what has been extra carricular, should Raja be suspended. If it wasn't for what has gone on in this series with virtually no action of suspension in this series so far, I wouldn't expect it. That's exactly what Nash said in the post game interview when asked as well.
Like Laker fans were saying after all the other actions towards Suns players from Lakers in this series before........QUIT CRYING PEOPLE!!!!
