sitting at work, avoiding work - and avoiding thinking about the cards post-kurt...

i was at a cards game sometime in 1999-2001. they were playing the giants (i think) at sds. it was december. i'm pretty sure that was the coldest home game in the history of the arizona cardinals.

for some reason, 41 degrees and drizzle comes to mind. having been fully "arizona-ized" during my 6 years there, i was freezing my butt off. it felt like the frozen tundra of sun devil stadium :) .

was anyone else there? anyone else remember the game?

I think that has been referred to as "the Hot Cocoa" game!

No I wasn't there... lived in So Cal at the time.

The game I remember most at SDS was against the Vikings and the rain was unblieveable before the game. Sun devil stadium looked like a river.

It was the Giants game------I was there too. I wore a cotton hoodie that soaked through in about 30 seconds. Was soaked to the skin before kickoff. Lasted till nearly half, but had to go to the truck and turn on the heater. I shiverred until midway through the 4th quarter. Was very near hypothermic. Can't even remember who won. I didn't think I would ever get warm again.

I didn't get to go to this Giants game in 99 because I was out of state at college at the time. I know the Cardinals lost badly. I've heard all kind of stories about how cold it was, including at one point, apparently the sun broke through the clouds momentarily and received a standing O. Like I said, I wasn't there, can't confirm. I was at the Giants game in 92, we shut them out, it was extremely windy and cold. Of course the concessions couldn't deal with the coffee sales, it was luke warm at best. Obviously they don't usually sell much coffee.

I was there and it was nasty cold.
I was there with a date and it was our first date. All we could do was snuggle to try and keep warm.
It was a great first date.

Ah, yes. I remember it well. It was Dec 1998 and it was vs. the Giants. What I remember most was that people brought umbrellas to the game and we couldn't see anything in front of us! :hammer:

It actually snowed up in Cave Creek that morning. After that day, I bought a rain slicker from Land's End (which I've barely used since).

It was 41 here today and felt like it was 90!

I can't deal with cold anymore. I spent the first twenty plus years of my life in the Michigan, Ohio area and never want to deal with those kind of winters ever again.
Arizona thins your blood out and I'm good with that.
