I never quite got why Kansas took Preston, I guess maybe they figured he was good enough to take the risk and if he didn't clear ok, but they really needed another body this year if they could have got someone not as good as preston but certain to qualify it probably made more sense.
Preston's academics were always in question, it was actually surprising he qualified at all he apparently did the online stuff to catch up at Oak Hill. But then he couldn't clear to play because of questions about who bought the car that he was driving when he got into the accident.
Essentially the whole Pac 12 stopped recruiting him over academics once he went to Prime Prep, then USC(surprise) got back involved with him later in the game before he wound up at KU.
His mom is complaining about how Kansas handled the whole thing but she has to know with the FBI investigation any kid that has rumors around him is going to be suspended until things are cleared up.
