Bryce Love stepped in for Christian McCaffrey, who was held out of the game after declaring for the NFL Draft. Love gained 168 yards from scrimmage, 6 fewer such yards than McCaffrey's average this season. Love had a 59-yard rush in the third quarter and a 49-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter. McCaffrey had not had a game with a 40-yard rush and a reception in the same game this season and achieved that feat once in his career (2015 vs USC). Love gained 69 yards on seven rushes outside the tackles, averaging 4.3 yards after contact per rush. McCaffrey averaged 2.8 yards after contact per rush on those runs this season.
