http://www.cbssports.com/college-fo...ch-bowl-odds-line-huskies-can-hang-with-tide/Washington vs. Alabama prediction, Peach Bowl odds, line: Huskies can hang with Tide
Prediction
Alabama's team speed on defense is absolutely terrifying. The Tide will snuff out any play that goes laterally, often before it gets past the line of scrimmage. The front four applies tremendous pressure without needing to blitz, which makes the windows on short-to-intermediate routes extremely small. However, I think Washington's offense has the players to find some success over the top against the Tide, enough so to put up two to three touchdowns.
With a very good defense of their own, the Huskies can slow the Tide's offense and might turn Hurts over a time or two. I expect Washington to play very well and push Alabama in a way the Tide have rarely been pushed this season. That said, Alabama is the better team with more depth and in the fourth quarter, I fear Washington's defense will slow down and having to rely on the big play against the Alabama defense is not something I trust to work well late in a close game. I think Alabama wins this game 34-24 to earn a second straight trip to the national title game in a narrow Washington cover. Pick: Washington +15.5
Penn State vs. USC prediction, Rose Bowl pick, odds, line: Trojans looking good
Prediction
One of the things that always makes picking a bowl game so difficult is you don't always know how motivated each team will be to play in that particular game. Thankfully, when it comes to the Rose Bowl, motivation isn't something you need to worry about. Both of these teams want to be here, and both of them want to win.
So which one will?
I have to lean USC's direction in this game. As impressed as I have been by Penn State this season, I just believe that USC has the talent edge against the Nittany Lions at a lot of the key positions. I also believe that while Penn State's offensive line has improved, it could struggle against USC's front seven. So when I look at everything as a whole, I can't help but believe that USC wins this game more often than not, and I'm even willing to lay the points with the Trojans as well. Pick: USC -7.5

There is no shortage of NFL scouts who think highly of Clemson's Mike Williams. He's among the best wide receivers in college football. But how well will his impressive size (6-feet-3, 225 pounds) translate to the NFL? An NFC college scouting director compared him to two of the NFL's most productive big men at the position: Demaryius Thomas of the Denver Broncos and Alshon Jeffery of the Chicago Bears.

For a guy who once temporarily banned a reporter from covering his team at USC, Lane Kiffin sure seems to like talking to reporters. So much so that, for the second time in about a year, Kiffin overspent his time for media interviews and thus got left behind by the Alabama team

10. Rodney Adams, WR, USF
Game: Birmingham Bowl (vs. South Carolina), 2 p.m., ESPN
Adams and Isaiah Ford are actually very similar talents, though Adams might have faster timed speed. If the Gamecocks play Cover 1, the safety had better get moving when Adams runs a vertical route; he will take away the angle in a heartbeat. The first-team All-American Athletic Conference pick is a straight-line runner who will get a shot as a kick returner and No. 2 or 3 receiver in the NFL.
Myles Garrett built like Julius Peppers, quiet in bowl loss
HOUSTON -- As impressive as Texas A&M defensive end Myles Garrett looks on tape (from a physical perspective), his build is even more impressive in person. Garrett stalked the sidelines with headphones on during pregame Wednesday night at the Texas Bowl, and I couldn't help but think of Julius Peppers' body type when he was coming out of North Carolina. Garrett, one of the top players in college football, has impressive lower-body thickness and is shredded in his upper body.

The reason?
He reportedly shoplifted from -- of all places -- a Belk department store in Charlotte, N.C., even though each player on Sprinkle's Arkansas team and opponent Virginia Tech had a $450 gift card to spend there

Texas A&M wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones intends to apply for early eligibility to enter the 2017 NFL Draft.
The Aggies fourth-year junior announced his decision on Twitter a day after his team lost to Kansas State 33-28 in the Texas Bowl:
"I am truly greatful for coach (Kevin) Sumlin and the entire Aggie staff for their role in my development as a player and as a man," Seals-Jones' statement read in part. "... I look forward to the challenges in my new journey."
Swinney: Johnson's comments about Barrett 'Not real smart'
Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said Jadar Johnson better play well in the Fiesta Bowl after the safety gave a less-than-glowing scouting report of Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett.
"Not real smart," Swinney said Thursday when asked about Johnson saying early in the week that Clemson has "definitely faced quarterbacks better" than Barrett. Johnson also said Barrett was not a "very accurate passer."
"He better play well," Swinney said of Johnson.
