Yeah, they need to not freak out with big changes after 1 year. But if the bye continues to be a disadvantage after 3 or 4 years there will be huge pressure to go to 16 teams.
definitely, and the complaints this year are minor, at least from me. the main thing is that no one is getting screwed out of a title shot like what almost always happened in the past and also happened to FSU last year even with the 4 team playoff.

I like Penn St, the team... but am not a fan of the coach!
I can't stand either - Franklin is a good coach, but definitely picked up that PSU trait of protecting the program over people

I've spent way too much time with and around be PSU fans

Game day there is fun and it is a great environment - it was at is best when I got to see Miami give them one of their worst home losses though:D

Agreed... I have a nephew who is a senior at PSU. Love him...but he's become a bit more hard to love over these 4 years! :)
Still, of the 4 remaining teams, PSU is the team that irks me the least.

Order of preference:

Ohio State (Mom used to go to games when she lived in Columbus - paid a nickel a ticket (during WWII)
Penn State (B1G!!)
Notre Dame, I guess
Texass (can't cheer for Texas or the SEC)

I don't really care. Definitely not Ohio St or Pedo St. Screw them. Texas - oh hell no. By default Notre Dame is my preference. I guess a national title by them is good for the sport overall.

all four of the teams left are a bucket list for me to attend a game. I finally went to Austin this year and that was incredible. I went to Texas/Ohio State in Glendale for the fiesta bowl, but that wasn't as fun as it would be going to Columbus or Austin. I lived in Ohio after I moved away from Arizona and I must say it is like a monopoly there for Ohio State. they have nothing in the way of in state competition or rivalry that texas does with multiple in state universities. that aside I have all the respect in the world for Ohio State. they have been the most consistent program in my lifetime of watching football.

I going to have to pull for the Domers. Mainly to stick it to both the B1G and SEC but I'd have real trouble pulling for any of the other 3. OSU and Texas have the two most obnoxious fan bases outside of the couple Texas guys here. Plus I'm still bitter over Cooper. And Pedo St is Pedo St. I don't think they have a real shot either and that they're still in only by luck of the draw. If they had drawn any other team in the semis they'd have lost.

It's kind of odd that Texas is in the SEC. after years of being Southwest Conference and Big 12 I was used to that. I want to defend the SEC then again I don't because Texas in year one is proving to be the best team in that conference, albeit losing to Georgia twice keeps them from outright saying it now. I feel like the SEC title loss was a tip the cap moment for me. Georgia won the battle but I knew they were going lose the next game because of the way they got beat up in that game. I'll also add that when A&M switched over from big 12 to SEC, they got better and had success against the big teams in that conference. After the surge in OU and Texas post 2000, A&M were rarely if ever a top big 12 team. So I agree with those who say the SEC is overrated. It's a good conference, but it's not always the best one.

As a Michigan native and fan (co-favorite along with ASU), I absolutely LOATHE Ohio Stank. Even though I don't really care for any of the other semifinalists, I'll readily take any of them over tOSU.

And beyond my own personal disdain, Ohio's "we'll pay anything to get a champion" approach is at the forefront of what is going haywire with college football. They were most likely breaking the rules before the NIL. Now they have basically given up all pretense of being an institute of higher learning and are just in the business of pro football being underwritten by state educational funding.
