There was really never a reason to expand imo. Well I guess you do it for $$$. Who has a realistic shot this year?Man these first round games are making a big argument why there may not have been a reason to extend to the field to 12. Wasn’t what I expected.
It's just one year. I do think they need to rethink the seeding though. some really good teams are playing in week 1 that maybe should have had byes IMHO.Man these first round games are making a big argument why there may not have been a reason to extend to the field to 12. Wasn’t what I expected.
I don't buy OSU or Tennessee because of their lack of offense. but hopefully that will be a good game tonight. There was really never a reason to expand imo. Well I guess you do it for $$$. Who has a realistic shot this year?
Oregon
Georgia
Texas
Ohio St (maybe?)
Notre Dame (I guess)
That’s it. And I don’t buy OSU and I’m not sure about Tennessee
There are 170 FBS teams. 4 was too little. If 4 was the right number it just screams what’s wrong with college football in terms of talent distribution. There was really never a reason to expand imo. Well I guess you do it for $$$. Who has a realistic shot this year?

I’m not sure you go anywhere past 8 and I think virtually every year you could get away with 6 easily. There are 130 FBS teams. 4 was too little. If 4 was the right number it just screams what’s wrong with college football in terms of talent distribution.
The seeding is creating some wonkiness. Oregon looks to have gotten screwed. It's just one year. I do think they need to rethink the seeding though. some really good teams are playing in week 1 that maybe should have had byes IMHO.
yeah I think the 12 teams that are in all deserve to be there. but the seeding is off. it is what it is. I'd rather see this than what we had before with popularity contests and back room computers deciding who plays for the title. hopefully they fix the seeding to go off of final rankings or something more appropriate moving forward. there is a lot of wonkiness in CFB still. I also think Jeanty got screwed out of the heisman. The seeding is creating some wonkiness. Oregon looks to have gotten screwed.
I agree for sure. I was surprised they went from 4 to 12 this fast. I thought it would get to 12 or more eventually. the teams that are complaining now about being left out have no leg to stand on. Alabama is claiming they won't play a tough schedule anymore out of conference lol. if that's their way forward, I hope it works out for them. they didn't play anyone out of conference this year lol. There are 130 FBS teams. 4 was too little. If Clemson scores here it makes things super interesting. Looked for all the world as if it would be the 3rd blowout game but it’s tightening upTexas have looked really good today. but they still have some issues finishing games. it's something to keep an eye on in this game and in the future.
It has to do with losing to a mid Vanderbilt and a really bad Oklahoma team. That’s what screwed themI agree for sure. I was surprised they went from 4 to 12 this fast. They will fix the seeding…I assume by next year even. I think if seeded properly, ASU would have gotten the 12 seed and I don’t think a power 4 conference winner should ever really be that low with some possible exceptionsyeah I think the 12 teams that are in all deserve to be there. but the seeding is off. it is what it is. yeah, don't get me wrong I'd rather Texas be where they are now than the alternative. but this is how they always play. they always look like they are on the verge of a blowout victory, but end up in a close finish. and a lot of it is self induced like dropped balls, inconsistency in their run game, and missed throws by Ewers. If Clemson scores here it makes things super interesting. Looked for all the world as if it would be the 3rd blowout game but it’s tightening up
Well Clemson had more than one person pick them on here to win this game. I think Texas dominated today on both sides of the ball when it counted the most. Texas as they often do also made a couple mistakes that kept Clemson in the game.Last two weeks have proven to me that Clemson isn't all that great. So not sure what to make of Texas not being able to shut them down better.
For sure. Vanderbilt is better than OU this year. OU blowing out Bama is what really eliminated Bama. OU was not good this year and Bama were not ready for that game. inexusable to lose that one, much less get blown out by OU. Bama and much of the SEC wanted to add OU and Texas to make their conference stronger and they got what they deserved. It has to do with losing to a mid Vanderbilt and a really bad Oklahoma team. That’s what screwed them
But if OSU blows out Tennessee that really takes the wind out of the SEC whining sailsNow, what was supposed to be the best game of the first week is looking like it's might be the worst. Tenn just getting clobbered.
Now, I am afraid the committee will overreact and make too big of changes for next year
they definitely need to change the seeding process. not sure where I've heard that before though. Now, what was supposed to be the best game of the first week is looking like it's might be the worst. Tenn just getting clobbered.

No, I imagine that Lane Kiffin will make national title claims after it's all said and done. wE bEaT gEoRgIa!But if OSU blows out Tennessee that really takes the wind out of the SEC whining sails
