They were talking about this on The Athletic Football Show w/r/t the Vikes. They made a couple of aggressive FA signings with the expectation that when their "competitive rebuild" is complete, Josh Oliver (TE), Byron Murphy (CB) and Marcus Davenport (DE) will be on the back side of their primes.I get everything that you are saying here, but is the alternative better? Sign a couple free agents, keep Byron/Zach. What does that do for us, win maybe one extra game?
I think the FO is indicating that this is a non-competitive rebuild and we're unlikely to compete in either 2023 or 2024, and the cap landscape afterward is too blurry to plan around.
