I agree we go DE or LB in first then whatever QB falls we need to take in the 2nd. I like Skelton but do not want to waste a season if he does not pan out.

Mallett in the 2nd would be a coup for the Cardinals. I actually think he is the most NFL ready quarterback in the draft. The game that everyone talks about when criticizing Mallett is the Alabama game, but if you watched the first half of that game and then turned off the TV, you would have left convinced that Mallett was the 2nd coming of Dan Marino.

I like Mallett because he can rifle a ball like no one else. The Derek Anderson comparisons are really ridiculous if you look at Mallett's college career vs. Derek Anderson's. Mallett had a terrific completion percentage/touchdown to interception ratio playing in the best conference in America while Anderson completed barely 50% of his passes while playing in the PAC 10. If Mallett goes to the Cardinals and they can get him with a good QB coach and someone to mentor him and show him the nuances of being a NFL quarterback, I think he can be a bigtime starter within a couple of years.

His throwing performance today was about as spot on as you can get. Power, tight spin, accuracy.

Locker wasn't to far behind by the way.

I would take either one in the 2nd.

I would love Locker in the 2nd, because I really like his mobility and his accuracy issues seem correctable. I put him a bit higher than Mallett at point.

I see it differently; sure Locker threw well at the combine, but his accuracy was terrible in college during games.

Mallett threw the ball well in games. In fact, I'd argue as a pure passer he's one of the best prospects in years. I'll take a great passer over a great athlete any day of the week.

But maybe Whiz and company can fix Locker's issues like they did with Warner. And if that were to happen, Locker could be a hell of a player.

I like the new term for throwing. He "spins" the ball. My take on Mallet in the Alabama game was dropped balls by receivers in the 2nd half.
