All is right in the universe once again, good old playoff overtime loss at home in front of the nation, at the end they played like a steaming pile of Kyle!!!!! Words like enjoyment or happiness don't come close to expressing the pleasure, the bliss, the overwhelming euphoric spiritual and physical satisfaction I get when I see those stinkin whiners get that close to a superbowl, and flush it down the toilet bowl...great job four and whiners, made my friggin week. You can talk all you want about how you had a better year, but we all start with the same record after pre-season, and we did spank that ass this year anyways so I aint worried one bit. I am smiling so hard go hard, that game was priceless!!!! I do enjoy watching your team go down with that good old whiner style, hahahahaha, hahahaahhahahahaha, hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha,
hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

And Harbaugh declined to do the losing coaches postgame interview. What a sore loser! Way to set the example for your team to win or lose with class.

Harbaugh always rubbed me the wrong way, this just clinches his doucheness.

I loved that Crabtree was MIA as well.

I'm just glad the 49ers fraudulent season is over. I'm still in disbelief about how they managed to scrape 13 wins out of this season. Hard to imagine they'll get remotely near that in 2012

I can understand the Niner hate but I don't know how a Cards fan could feel like gloating here. SF had an incredible turnaround and losing in the NFC Championship game is a hell of a lot better than limping home with an 8 - 8 record.

Congrats on a great season 9er fans and I sincerely hope you guys go winless next year.

I put that loss squarely on Vernon Davis.:D With a coach that is all about field position, and a game that was that close, 30 yards in senseless penalties was a huge factor and helped the Midgets get the game to overtime where the fumble-uh-rooskie came into play and I proceeded to truly enjoy NFL football for the first time in weeks.

You see Go Hard, when you got a guy like Larry Fitzgerald, and all the class that comes with him (including being the determining factor in going to the superbowl)....you still get the 2 TDs but you don't get the boneheaded ego tripping "look at me" poor sport cheap shotting jumping on dudes from behind flip out win I lose and cry like a baby when I win type of moron yall got in Vernon Davis. It stings don't it? :D

8-8 ain't great, but going 7-2 to finish the season isn't "limping home" either.

Feel bad for that Williams kid. (He's a Chaparral/ASU alum.) He had the worst day on the biggest stage. He ripped SF's heart out.

Too bad their other "stud" receivers (and I use that term loosely, because they don't know what those are anymore) were useless, leaving him to have such a big impact on the game. Ginn, Crabtree, Edwards in 2011-2012? No wonder Vernon Davis as a TE is the best receiving threat they had. And of course, all that "team leader" did was garner 30 yards in unsportsmanlike penalties. True class, all the way around.

The good news is that this failed run should get Alex Smith a nice new contract and the Niners should move back to their normal selves next season.

Yeah, that kind of implied something I didn't intend. But, still, I'd trade our failure for the 9ers failure any day of the week. I know this is the Smack Shack but most of the comments here don't feel like smack. They come across like kicking a dog when it's down. I hope the dog stays down but I'm sure not going to gloat over someone else's shattered dreams especially when it wasn't "my team" that shattered those dreams.

SF was 31st in the NFL in 3rd down conversions and Alex Smith was one of the worst QB's in the NFL in the Red Zone.

If they hitch their wagon to Smith longterm I see them sliding back to mediocrity for a long time.

I am calling it now. If Alex is there next year, the Niners will be 8-8 next season, at best, and miss the playoffs.

Absolutely. I'm down with that! Their running game will begin to tail off as Gore will begin to slow due to age, wear & tear...
And their defense will not play at such a high level next year, coming off this season when they were all-world, particularly against the run.

And most importantly, Alex Smith had his career year this season - it's all downhill from here!! ;)

I think Alex Smith was 1 for 13 on third downs, while Eli was killing it on third down. I think Alex Smith had less than 10 yards passing in the fourth quarter, I might be wrong on that one but I don't look up whiner stats so who cares.:D I hope they sign him for life.

Yep. They had 10 turnovers total in the regular season. That'll never happen for them again. That alone will be worth a couple more losses next year.

Rodgers 264 yards 2 TDs 1 ints 1 Fumble Lost
Smith 196 yards 2 TDs 0 int 0 Fumble Lost

Umm awfully similar stats with no turnovers for Alex. The best offense in the NFL only scored 20 on the Giants D with everybody healthy in Lambeau AND 14 of those points came off bad calls by the officials. the Giants D played a good game. I respect that.

Anyway, we win as a team and lose as a team. I'm not blaming anybody for this loss even Kyle Williams. The whole team and staff could've done better. Nobody is blaming each other in the locker room which is amazing to see.

I am so proud of my team and organization so all your tauntings are not gonna work. They gave Niners fans the #1 defense, 2 home playoffs games, The Run, The Catch III, etc...it's been an awesome ride!

I actually came back to congratulate you guys on a great season after you lost that Superbowl so you know I don't kick people when they're down--that's just pathetic and I take no pride in that.

Gonna keep it classy and wish you guys luck next year. Here's to the NFC West being competitive!

The Team. The Team. The Team. Niner 4 life win or lose

Love&Peace
