BTW, to whoever was hating on Justin Smith. He made to the 1st AND 2nd All Pro team as a DT and DE plus the Pro Bowl.

Hate on that!

Dockett had ZERO vote!

The Saints suck traveling west. I think the Niners win this one. At least I hope they do. God, I hate Drew Brees.

Would you mind explaining how you can dislike Brees enough to like the 49ers more?

Just wondering how such a thing is possible...

His comments about former players still grates me:

“There’s some guys out there that have made bad business decisions. They took their pensions early because they never went out and got a job. They’ve had a couple divorces and they’re making payments to this place and that place. And that’s why they don’t have money. And they’re coming to us to basically say, ‘Please make up for my bad judgment.”

Classic case of taking a few isolated cases and extrapolating it to an entire group. He's standing on the shoulders of guys who made $20 K a year, not $20 M. It is a lot easier to bounce back from bad decisions when you are a millionaire, which these guys never were.

Clearly, Brees feels no moral obligation to help out the guys who sacrificed their health to build up the game that turned him into a superstar millionaire. What a D-Bag. To me, he is the poster child for "I Got Mine".

Wow... interesting... I've never seen that quote from Brees... Where did you dig that up?
It seems WAY out of character for Brees as he is universally known to be one of the really great guys in the game. Extremely fan friendly. Immensely giving of his time and money. Hard to believe he actually uttered those words. Any chance this is a mistake, or, at minimum, taken out of context??

I heard it when he said it and my jaw dropped. The context is correct. Former players picked up on it too and included in their legal complaint.

I dislike the 9ers so much, I am finding it easy to overlook that statement. :)

If a giant hole opened up and swallowed them all whole, I wouldn't cry. Come to think of it, that is a very real possibility at Candlestick.

Just would love to have seen/heard the full conversation with Brees... What was the question or the comments that precipitated that type of response from him? It's very, very hard for me to believe that he meant those comments as a full statement on the issue of "taking care of former players"... Again, he has proven to be anything but a greedy, money grabbing player and off-the-field person... Seems like such an odd comment to come from him...

So let him lose to the Pack.

For God's sake, this is the NINERS we are talking about! The vomit-breathed asshats ESPN would love to stroke to the finish line because they were relevant in the 80s.

I want to say this was said during the 2010 Super Bowl week when he was making the media rounds. Someone asked him about the Gridiron Greats movement to get better benefits for former players. He said their claims do not reflect reality and then went on to make this statement.

I am with you on this one. It was so out of character for him that I couldn't believe it. But I haven't ever heard him recant or clarify those remarks since then.

I hate the Niners, but there is also something to be said for the "pitiful" NFC West winning at least one playoff game for how many years in a row? Never heard the east coast blowhards explain that one.

Plus, it is still better than "Drew Breeeeeeeees", IMO!

Drew Brees has always been a D-bag as is the whole Saints team. He was a joke of a QB until Roger Goodell pussified the whole league. Remember the Chargers got the #1 pick with Drew Brees under center before.

Niners!

We Dat, $%^$&!
