The Crew's focus has turned fully to the MLS regular season after being knocked out of CONCACAF Champion Cup, and tonight comes a matchup against the league's newest team, San Diego FC.
San Diego joined MLS as the 30th team at the beginning of the season, and Columbus is the first Eastern Conference opponent for the franchise.
On Tuesday, the Crew was knocked out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup round of 16 by Los Angeles FC. The early exit comes after Columbus reached the Champions Cup final last year.
Despite the Crew defeating LAFC 2-1 in the second leg of their two-game series, LAFC advanced 4-2 on aggregate goals.
"I don’t know if you use it (the loss)," Crew midfielder Darlington Nagbe said. "I think you just push it to the side. I mean, it’s early in the season, now you focus on the league. That’s the only positive."
Follow along for updates on the Crew's return to MLS play against San Diego FC.
The Crew vs. San Diego English-speaking radio broadcast will be on Alt 105.7 FM and available via the iHeartRadio app. Columbus' regular radio broadcaster Chris Doran will be on the call.
