How do you all feel about playing for draft position for the rest of the year? -Just curious.

This isn't a good year to have the number one pick if your the cardinals, IMO. Between James, Lienart and Boldin and Fitz, we don't need the skill positions that typically go top-3, and there doesn't appear to be an OL worthy of such a high-pick.

It's for that reason alone that I think we'll end up with the number one overall selection.

Trading out ot 1 isn't really easy unless there is a "can't fail" prospect and I really don't think this draft has a player that teams will "bet it all" on so who ever gets the num 1 will draft num1. JMHO.

Oh, I agree with you. But, someone might get all hot and bothered over Quinn. God knows the Lions and Raiders could use a real QB. That's the only way I see the #1 pick having great trade value. I don't like the top of this draft too much so far.

Green and company are coaching for their careers.

Maybe Green doesn't care, but Penndy and Kruciek know that if the cards supernova, it'll be a while before they get another DC/OC gig.

Neither do I. And I want to barf at the guaranteed money inflation that the top picks get every year. #1 QB's are approaching $30M guaranteed signing bonus. Brady Quinn is a nice player, but not worth $60M.

Unfortunately, the soft part of the schedule has passed. We play Denver and Seattle at home and the Rams and Chargers and 49ers on the road. I don't see a promising hope of a lot of wins.

Leinart looked much better today as did the OL. Hopefully that will continue, but I realistically can't get my hopes up for a much lower draft slot.

It depends on the price. Trading out isn't that hard when there's quality at the top. You guys got stuck with the 1st pick in arguably the weakest draft ever in terms of top value quality.

Like it or not, but Smith probably wouldn't have been picked in the top 15 if he was in this year's draft OR in the 2004 draft.

If we get the #1 pick, it shouldn't be that hard to trade down to around the 5th spot and get paid nicely.

I agree--so long as by "nicely" you don't expect market price (ie--the value chart).

If we don't need/want Quinn or Peterson (or whoever is largely expected to be #1 or 2), then it would be silly NOT to accept the best offer that comes our way, even if it's not what a team like Detroit or Oakland might get in our position.

The Chargers got "overpaid" by 350 points by the Giants for Manning. Quinn is not Manning, so yes, I would settle for a little less than the marked price.

Two high 2nd rounders (1080 points) for trading down to #5 (1300 points) or something like that.
