Per Arians, he is anticipating Cooper to be back for at least 6 games. Light at the end of the tunnel?

Any time he gets in his first year is good time, IMO.

Put him on the "special" IR, and let him play at the end of the season.

Whenever I daydream about the talent at any position, I always get ahead of myself and take into account backup depth due to the likelihood of at least one injury.

You hate to see it happen to your #1 draft pick as you try to overhaul the OL, but it was inevitable that there'd be at least one key injury (not to have any would be the exception to the rule - the Cardinals have seldom if ever been so lucky).

Key right now is to start the best remaining 5 guys (Levi, Colledge, Sendlein, Fanaica and Winston) and hope the coaches can develop Massie and other OL's who make it to the Final 53. The hidden back story to this season could be the "invisible" work Goodwin does with our backup linemen (including Coop).

At least that's what I'm hoping.

No more pulling the LG I guess?

Colledge is a lot slower than Cooper. Can he pull and get out in front?

Will it change the Oline blocking assignments?

Go and rewatch the first half of the Chargers game and you will see Colledge pulling just fine on runs to the left. As bad as the Cards played, the running game was actually looking really good.

If the plan is for Coop to come back this year (good idea BTW) then why not leave College at RG and put Fanaika at LG? This way the continuity is less disrupted when Coop comes back.

I guess it gets College back to his most familiar and comfortable position and Fanaika hasn't gotten many/any reps at LG. Any lineup that keeps Rachal on the bench works for me.

Better than expected but still not good. watched the first quarter again last night, Cooper was actually playing quite well before he got hurt. Most of the problems were at T, Levi as people have pointed out but Winston got beat once for big pressure on Palmer too.

So depressing I was actually convincing myself we were going to be better than expected and then bam, another big injury in a meaningless preseason game.

Seems like he might miss only 8 games. Not that this isn't a lot, but because of the bye week and the fact that it happened with another week left in preseason might actually allow him to miss less games than he would have otherwise. Some sort of silver lining, but it still hurts a lot considering the improvement he likely would have had over those 8 weeks.

since 2008 two other rookie OL have broken their fibula. One missed 11 games, one missed 6.

Good info, thanks for that. Doctors said no screws or plates, and were very optimistic. With that being said, i think there is no doubt he gets added to IR designated for return list. The only problem with that is he cannot practice for 6 games, and he must miss 8 games by rule.

I think the Cards may wait until last minute and see how the leg is progressing and then maybe he doesnt even get on IR designated for return.

Do you guys think theres any chance he just stays on rhe active roster and he plays with a brace in week 6 or so?? Longshot but possible IMO.

My prediction is that he will play his first game in week 10 after the bye week. No reason to rush him out there too fast, but if he is ready to go by week 6 than I would be very happy with that.
