Cooper Kupp has found a new home, and it will mark a return to his old one.

Kupp was released by the Los Angeles Rams on Wednesday, but he didn't last long on the open market. On Friday evening, the Super Bowl 56 MVP signed with the Seattle Seahawks. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Kupp heads to the NFC West on a three-year, $45 million deal.

A Washington native, Kupp is originally from Yakima and played college football at Eastern Washington. He officially announced his homecoming on social media, and his seven-word caption really says it all.

"Washington back across my chest," Kupp wrote. "Let's go!!!!!"

Kupp signed a three-year extension following the Rams' Super Bowl season in 2021 — the best of his career to this point — but he has spent the last three campaigns limited by injuries. Los Angeles originally tried to tried Kupp but released him after it couldn't find a suitor.

Now, the 31-year-old joins an offense in transition. Seattle fired offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb after his first season in favor of Klint Kubiak, and it traded quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders, ultimately signing Sam Darnold to replace him.

They also shuffled the receiver room, parting ways with Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf while adding Marquez Valdes-Scantling and, now, Kupp.

He has remained productive when healthy, and the 2021 NFL receiving leader will now look to return to form while playing in his home state.
